Hello,

My closing date is November 21st. I've already contacted hydro/water. We didn't have to pay a deposit, which I thought was pretty weird since we are first time home buyers.

I have mortgage/house insurance set up for the 21st. Lawyer and bank is contacted.

I need to contact Union Gas. Does anybody have the number for them?

Am I missing something????

Shoot, forgot to contact Ozz...I thought this was automatically done. What do they need from me?

Thanks!
Contact Ozz if you want to buy-out your hot water tank, sometimes it's cheaper to buy it out prior to closing.

Btw there's a good article at http://www.buildinghomes.ca/index.php/M ... ities_List listing the Milton Utilities to contact when moving into a new home in Milton.

That's the list I used, which is why I didn't contact Ozz :) I don't plan on buying it out so I guess I'll be fine?
If you aren't buying, I think maybe Ozz still wants your signature on their leasing contact? They should have already mailed you stuff/documents a couple months ago that would have had instructions on what they would want you to do if you're planning on leasing, or buying. It would also probably have listed how much they're going to charge you if you lease.

Sorry I can't remember for sure, maybe someone else does and will reply.

We haven't actually called them or signed anything with them ourselves yet for our parents townhouse, and it closes next wednesday. I know I have a letter from them somewhere at home that they sent us earlier listing our options, just haven't had time to look at it closely.

We're closing the next day but will take our time moving in on the weekend. When you're PDI? See you next week!
We're closing next Wednesday, and our PDI is on Tuesday. Just 1 day prior to closing, same as you.
It would be much better to have the PDI a few days or a week prior to closing, that way Mattamy would have time to correct things prior to moving in. But they're still working on the house and are getting close to the wire on getting things completed on time.

This maybe a stupid question, but do we have to contact Ozz.

I've already set up the water/hydro.

Is the water the same thing??

I'm a first time home buyer, that is why I'm asking.

Ozz is the company that's supplying your hot water tank, which you are either leasing or buying. It's not the same thing as the hydro company that's supplying you the water. Although if leasing, you'll see the Ozz lease amount will get tacked on/added to your monthly hydro bill.

You may have received something in the mail from them with more information. Sorry I'm not able to answer if you "have to contact Ozz" as I'm not sure myself.

Mattamy sends your info to all the utilities.

You just have to call and confirm that the information is correct.

As for the water, it is on the same bill as Hydro, but every other month.
