Last week I noticed a mouse inside my garage near the garbage. I went in and bought from Homedepot thoes pest eliminators which emit high frequency waves.

Till date I have found it useless. They dont seem to work. I dont have a cat and am not looking to get one.... so if any one has any other solutions that they have tried and which work do let me know.

The mouse now seems to have moved from the garage to my fireplace inside the house.

By the mouse traps and put peanuts on them with the metal from a twist tie tie to the trap (mice cant see the metal)-- seriously they work really well --

I try to leave my cat Chester outside as much as I can *evil grin* but he seems to find his way back inside again.

Hes very good during the spring and summer time bringing me his mice KILLS and leaving them on the doorstep either on or beside my National Post. yech.

There are still lots of wild open spaces south of HV and the area where these field mice live and can make it up as far as Derry and further north. IVe driven along Derry and noticed a few of them crossing the street.... never at the lights mind you ;) but they are around.

Its just the time of year when mice come in from the cold, they are always there.

Get the old style victor traps, bait them with peanut butter.

When we moved in 6 1/2 years ago, we were basically in the middle of a corn field here in HV. We had a month off work and left one van sitting the whole time. When my husband went to start it up for work, we found that the mice had moved in under the hood and chewed EVERYTHING!!
They also used to run across the patio at night when you were sitting outside. :(
Check around the outside of your house for holes. We had some in the last house around where the furnace pipes went through the wall. We had to seal those up.

I am glad the critters have moved off to another area!
