Since this is my first time getting an OTR microwave. We got the upgrade for the space but was told by our Design Consultant that we need to get someone to install. Is it easy to install? I was by the Brick the other day and they told me that it is easy and all you have to do is install the brackets provided....

I bought one and I will be installing it.

I'll give you an update on how it goes.

I haven't installed one, but I have seen a lot of people try to install them and generally they say it's a pain in the ass :)

Usually you have to fight with support structures to hold it in place, as well as make sure you have the proper type of electical connection, and that your fan vent fits.

I'm not saying you cannot do it yourself.. I am however saying make sure you have some tools and experience beyond what is listed in the manual :)

Its funny how people get different answers to questions they ask........i went the the brick and was told by the sales guy that i should not get an OTR Microwave b/c i intend to get a gas range and the heat from the stove will cause the microwave to warp and not work properly...i figured the OTR Microwaves are more expensive than the counter top ones so he must know what hes talking about since he stopped me from making a more expensive purchase, but after reading your posts im wondering if her really knows anything about them???..........
