My car stereo is always set on Q107 (I'm actually not certain that it gets any other stations) and today Derringer in the Morning was on location in Oakville, not far from our house. The lure of free coffee and donuts, as well as the chance to win a trip to Dominican Republic, had me driving by.
It was 6:45 and there was a flurry of activity, even a band playing classic rock on the roof!
As I was driving away I saw some of the neighbours wandering about, some watching from their yards, and thought to myself "these are pretty cool neighbours to have this all happen around them, starting at 5:30 a.m." Then I wondered if Hawthorne Villagers would be so understanding? My future neighbours (that I've had the pleasure of getting to know before we move in) on Marshall and McNeil would be pretty cool about this...I think...with some advance warning.
I think that the quality of people and the fact that we've gotten to know each other in line and at pub nights and Mattamy U, is going to make this a great and unique place to live.

In our current Hawthorne Village neighbourhood, an event like that would be welcomed and attended by most folks. I hope that's the case in Phase 12!
