Hi,

We're on the same boat as you. We close January 2009. They said price list won't be available until 6 mos prior to closing date.

LOL! Yes, our UAV's always online! :) I'll probably see you on LIVE on the weekend!

How are you doing with picking the upgrades? Are prices really as expensive as people say they are?

You guys are SO dead in COD4!

Dude, you're accompanying us to the DC this weekend so you won't have time to be gaming.

Some are reasonable, but an extra $3000 just to pick a darker stain for the kitchen cabinets is just B.S. I love the way they give you the standard kitchen layout with a kitchen sink facing the family room, then when we get the upgrades list, they show the 'alternate' chef's kitchen, which I like to call, "What a normal kitchen should look like), where the sink actually faces the window, and has a more opened up feel, all for a low low price of $3500. Oh yeah, the upgrade prices on the cabinets for that layout are also higher, so you get *@$% twice.

Cold Cellar in the basement? Approx $3000
Frameless glass shower? $2273

Here's another doozy, 9ft on the main floor standard. 2nd floor reasonable upgrade at $5875. But wait a minute, wouldn't you want your doors to also be increased by a foot so it doesn't look like you are walking into a cave? Well, thats not included - upgrade at $315/door. We have approx 13 to 14 doors in total, not even including the closets.

To give them credit, it was nice of them to charge only $181 to increase the gas line from 3/4" to 1".

A little bit of a rant, I was some what appauled by the pricing based on principal. Maybe we should've just went with a Heathwood or Cosorp home, because a lot of the upgrades were already included in their prices and the standard stuff was a better. That being said, they would've probably given us something similar, then I would've wished I went w/Mattamy :)

Oh well, a day or 2 will pass, a little bit of COD4, and I should come back to earth. I'll be fine :)

P.S. Tiffany, our Design Consultant, has been great thus far!

Is that ture? 9ft ceiling on the main floor is standard? What phase are you in and is this only for the 50' homes?

Saturday it is - we'll figure out a time that works.

Late Saturday works well for the gaming.

That's a great upgrade if you are willing to spend the $$$. I will tell you why this upgrade is so pricey. The doors that Mattamy uses as standard are cheap, I mean not more than $35 per door their cost. But for Mattamy to order 8 ft. doors, it's costing them much more & they don't get the same discount because they are not bought in bulk but custom ordered... I know this because we have 8 ft. doors on our main floor & I know how much they do cost because we ordered them ourselves not through builder. But looks amazing with our 10 ft. ceilings  But I feel the standard doors will look fine with 9 ft. ceilings, it's once you go to 10 ft. they look tiny :D

BOOK IT: Saturday 11am it is.

I'll be the guy pandering outside the DC with a guitar (the one from guitar hero) looking for upgrade funds.
