Has anyone dealt with Paul and Approval Fencing? I just got a quote for fencing and was wondering whether there are any comments from the forum.

I would say - if you arent happy with the type of fence, etc. that your neighbour is choosing you are NOT obligated to go with that company - so don't its your backyard & your money that you are spending - so if you arent happy don't do it - talk to your neighbour & explain the situation to them - if they don't accept it - let them pay for it-there was a thread about this last year-about someone's neighbour picking the fence, height, etc. --

How much would one portion of the fence cost someone? (out of curiosity)

The quote that I was given was $24/foot for 4" post and $28/foot for 6" post. The price is pretty good because last year I got a quote from Picket Fence that was $29/foot for teh 6" and that was last year.

Ok so we have had fences done by both companies and I would not recommend approval fencing. Yes they were cheaper and very quick but they really screwed up both gates and after numerous calls they never came back to fix them. DH tried fixing them but they are still not right.

We used Picket fence about 4-5 yrs ago when we first moved to our semi in phase one and Frank was great. I would highly recommend using him again.

I talked to Frank from Picket Fence last year and if it was up to me, I would go with him but all the neighbours have signed up with Paul from Approval Fencing and they are waiting for me.

Any more horror stories with Approval Fencing. I appreciate what you told me about the gate. Seeing how I am not a customer yet and he wants me to be a customer, shall I mention the gate problem to him and have him come by to fix it?

who cares what your neighbors have signed up for, you are free to pick your own fence and your own style.

don't let them bully you into following them.
