the best thing you can do is leave her alone for a couple of days...do not bother it too much, unless she actually comes to you with a "pick me up" look on her face... as for her sleeping time, cats are nocturnal (sp) but they tend to sleep/play whenever they want...there are generally no bedtimes...however, as she gets older, she will start to develop a trend of sleepping when you do....for now, looking back at what we did, i would not advise you to leave it alone overnight...she will cry and be very scared...think of it as if you are 8 weeks old and are left all on your own in a laundry room...it would be quite scarey....and she may not forgive you for it when she grows up...meaning she will be less affectionate than what a cat should ussually be....let it sleep with you or whereever she wants

but remember....she is just a baby...so remember to be very careful with the number of treats you give her...our's started throwing up when we first gave him "Temptations Treats" but now he can eat several in a day...he actually asks for them- by tapping our legs/arms in a "excuse me, may I have one" sorta way. its actually very funny ...I would suggest that you show her that it is infact you who is giving her these treats, that way, she will start to look at you as a good guy rather then a potential threat.

I would skip the "pouches" but most vets will recommend that you feed canned food occasionally. The reason being that cats become more fickle and habitual as they age, and if you don't get them used to a dietary variety you may find your self with an elderly cat who has no teeth left for dry food, but won't eat canned. Also canned gets extra moisture into the diet to help eliminate urine crystals.

Please don't leave her alone in the laundry room at night. She's a baby kitty...she needs affection & attention. I would suggest letting her sleep in your room. If you don't want her on your bed, you can keep her bed in your room and she can sleep on that if she wants.

She will be fine by herself

I didnt say that she wouldn't be fine. Only suggested not leaving her in the laundry room by herself, especially since she's so tiny. I'm a cat lover and personally, I would not do that to my new kitten. But that's my own opinion, and if you want to leave her in the laundry room, up to you.

My cats have always slept with us in bed ever since we got them.

I personally would never lock a cat in a room by themselves unless it was to seperate them during a fight.

A kitten who is knew to a house would be scared as it is, imagine being locked in a room with a hard floor at night and not being able to see or do anything.

You should allow the kitten the freedom to roam about your house without restriction. If you are worried about the kitten ruining your furniture then throw an old bed sheet over them. As long as your kitten is using the litter box then you shouldn't worry about accidents happening anywhere else in the house.
