I have been going to PUR for years. It seems to be more popular with the shift work crowd but it is pretty good. I avoid the after dinner times when it gets busy but the rest of the time is fine. I have never taken a class there so I can't comment.

It is about $40 a month. I now have to quit since I bought my house and became poor!

Yikes, I dropped in tonight. Pretty darn pricey unless you've been a member there for years. They are also lacking in several exercise machines. With that in mind, I pulled a Robert Redford a la Indecent Proposal, and offered the sales rep a good sum of cash on the spot to commit not for one night, but for one year. She would not budge on the set rates, so the gym might be doing well sales-wise. Oh well.

Alpha, here's a tip for getting a good membership price. Look at when they have a grand opening somewhere and sign up for their pass that allows you to go anywhere. Also ask them for the corporate price (if you have to make up a large company so be it).

You could also try signing up at the one in guelph...you might be able to get the 21 bi-weekly membership.

Thanks for the tip.

No cigar at the Oakville location today either. I offered a full year's worth of cash on the spot for a year's membership/instant commitment, and guess what? They would not consider that payment option without a HIGHER cost per year, and insisted on b-weekly withdrawl from my account in order for me to get a better deal. WTF? I ain't giving anyone access to my account unless absolutely needed in light of what Premier tends to do, so while I think Goodlife is generally very good (hence my first choice), it's not cool how they insist on getting access to peoples' bank accounts.

Try the one in Guelph...just tell them you want a corporate rate. Another tip, tell them you are joining from another gym...I got 2/bi-weekly taken off for that. You could also give them a credit card number...just tell them you don't have a bank account.
