Anyone know a good place in Milton, Oakville, Burlington or Georgetown that I could get a nice cake done for Sunday (short notice) for a very small baby shower, only around 10 people?

I tried YummyCakes in Milton and they are too busy.

Cafe deda has some amazing ones that are made by another company. Check them out.

Clarke's Homestyle Bakery in Burlington (on Mount Forest, in the plaza at the corner of Brant St and Mount Forest (I think is the name)., above the QEW, below Upper Middle Rd. This is an authentic bakery, everything homemade, fresh, done on site, from scratch, not a mix/premade elsewhere like it is at Superstore and other grocery store bakeries.

I recommend La Rose bakery as well.

I'm surprised no one on this board has offered to do one up for you privately. If there are any good bakers out there with extra time who practices HACCP principles in the kitchen, I'd be interested in paying you for the occasional homemade apple pie, or my favourite, weekly orders of chewy oatmeal raisin cookies.

I've ordered a sfoglia cake a couple times from La Rose Bakery, and we really enjoyed them.

I'd go back in a heartbeat. (and will for that matter)

If you want a nice light tasting cake (icing wise) try Sobeys. There is one in Acton on Hwy 7.

I tried La Rose Bakery for cake and didn't like it too much & A&P was not fresh obsessed enough for me

DQ is always a good treat for ice cream cakes.

I'll put in my 2 cents for La Rose and Clarke's Bakery as well (used to live down the street from them). Clarke's isn't open Sundays though, so you'd have to get it on Saturday.

Marble Slab Cremery http://www.marbleslab.com/locations/canada.html

It still shows that its 'coming soon'. Can you confirm the Milton location is open or did you get it from one of their other locations.
