I believe I was told that your framewalk could last 2-3 hours from Mattamy. How about you guys?
Our builder was saying something on the order of 1/2hr.
My point is have everything layed out so that your builder can go over your points and take notes.
I was prepaired.
1. Blueprints
2. Tape measure
3. Framewalk list printout
4. Piece of wood to check beams being level...should have brought a level.
5. Printed paper pictures with notes.
6. List of notes Sandra and I made of what we saw in the house and from blueprints.
7. My co-worker who was a drywaller by trade.
8. Digital camera
9. Steel toe boots
Our appointment was at 2:30pm and I remember Matt leaving at around 3:45-4:00pm. Matt had a slew of framewalks in one day...
We then spent some time boing over blue prints, looking for other things, looking at other houses etc before leaving.
Then had time to go to Portabello's for a couple of brews and 1/2 price appitisers before heading home.
So if you do have a time limit, remember to be prepaired...sure you can nick pick during the PDI over astetics (SP), but remember framing and internal stuff is harder to have changed if there is a screw up after you are all moved in.
Anyway...I hope it give you some ideas.
Tim
