I thought dealing with Rogers Cable is the only nightmare I am going to live with…. but I was wrong...there are few more out there.

To start with...

Mattamy can't seem to figure out what street name they like for our street…....
Lets see….
- Dymott Ave...NO!
- Ok Willet Terrace...NO!
- Ok how about Willett Terrace (2 TTs)...Nope!
- That doesn’t look good either so why not change it to Willet Crescent!!!

Hmmmm!!

NAH..too funny, lets change it back to Willet Terrace.

Alright so name is finally fixed 14 months after booking the house . ...guess what!!!!!...

- Now Canada post doesn't recognize this street name.
- Cogeco doesn't recognize this street,
- Milton Hydro called my Lawyer ..telling them that your client hasn't changed the service as yet and we will cut off the service on closing day... very threatening ehh!

Take a wild guess...I called Milton hydro spoke to the operator and she goes....could please spell the street name one more time for me as I could not find it...
Talk about other utility companies, which I haven't even called as yet.....

I guess I am the only one going through this…..if so, I request all other Neighbors on Willet Terrace help me out here..
what are they doing….
I need to have Cogeco service before I move for phone service…

But it wouldn't be Mattamy who determines the street names, wouldn't it be the city of Milton that determines the street names?

Thanks Linda

Yes the Town of Milton determines the street names and you can find Willet Crescent at milton.ca home page under mapping click on urban maps and enlarge the area to find all the new streets in the Harrison neighbourhood (Mattamy Escarpment).

The utility and other servicing companies should have Willet and other new streets on their maps and if they don't, tell them to go to the Town Hall or Milton Library at get a Community Connections Map which has all these streets and is available on the racks along with other community information.

Unfortunately too many people are using GPS and Mapquest systems which are two years out of date and some maps at local gas stations do not show any new roads west of Bronte Street.

If you want to see what the neighbourhood layout will look like in a few years, check out the Halton District School Board website hdsb.ca and click on boundary maps for the Milton area which shows not only existing streets but also proposed streets and subdivisions that have not even submitted applications to the Planning Department yet!

Thanks Colin,

If you check the map on milton.ca and search for any street address on willet Terrace (crescent) then you will see that the street name shows Willett Terrace while the house address shows Willet Crescent.

Notice the difference on the map....
One with Two TTs and the other with one T.
One shows Terrace and while the other shows Crescent.

I hope they resolve this issue soon.....:(
But thanks for your reply.

I am curious as to how people have been handling the mail issue?

For the mail issue have you tried contacting Canada Post?

I haven't moved in yet, but noticed back in February or March that the street sign said "Gleave Circle" when the documents from Mattamy said "Gleave Terrace." I looked it up on Canada Post and it says Gleave Terrace, so the signage was wrong but Canada Post was right.

Hi Guys,
Definitely, I am not the only one then. !!!

Buying a new house and going through all the stage of closing the house, I believe, is a wonderful and very exciting experience, there is no doubt about it, but at the same time it is a little hectic as well ...
This is the last thing one would expect…finding the correct address of their place and then trying convincing others…”No! Actually this is where we live .... but the map shows the wrong address...... !!!
