I could not agree more, and I wish there were some sort of recourse action for us to take on the matter.
That was a pure blantant cash grab that had absolutely nothing to do with road safety. It was merely a final farewell to a great cash cow for the Halton police. |

It's nice to see people agreeing with me 3 threads and 9 pages after the original post.
Clearly, it was decided over a month ago that 70 was a safe limit.
Clearly, it was decided that police would blitz the area days before the signs were changed.

How about sending 2 spray cans of fast-drying enamel -black and white- to the Region chair and the top cop. Include a note explaining that in future you expect one of them to arrange same-day service on approved changes to speed limits. Copies to all Region councillors and the Champion of course. No? OK, just a thought.
I wonder if there would have been a month delay and a speeding blitz if the road in question had been, for example, Bronte Road south of Dundas (near the Region offices) rather than JSP. |
