as per original post about 7 pages ago......i just got a 3gs 8g for 0.00, yes for free at best buy.....even if you don't use a whole lot of aps its a much better/nicer product than a lot of the other junk that is being sold for more
$$...telus did not have any available...i went with rogers |

| ^ Just curious how much is your monthly bill? Cuz I tried to negotiate with Rogers but my plan is heavily discounted so they are not budging on the price of the 3gs, $99. That's why I thought might as well get the 4 for $199 (speculation, at this point). |

| i went with the 50/month plan...difference between buying at best buy versus rogers or other provider is that only provider can offer corporate discounts...best buy gave me the phone but could only offer plans from their book...still got a couple of extras for going with 3 year plan....i usually keep phones for a long time so 3 years not a problem.. |

So much for taking the day off to line up at 8 am to get the iphone 4. People lined up since 3 am and one Rogers store only got 17 and the other 5. All sold out and no iphone for me  . Got a picture taken and interviewed by Milton Champion at least...but I doubt it will appear as the line up at the store across was more impressive and the girl ran over to get their story  .
Ok, time to wake up the wifey and tell her that I took the day off to spend it with the family....hehehehe |

I am travelling next Tuesday for the next few weeks and was hoping to get upgraded before then. Oh well! Geek stuff can wait till I get back...
I have never understood people who wait in line all night long for anything... except maybe for a house... lol

Sucks that you can't just upgrade via the Rogers website. I'd like to submit a request there now, and they can send it to me whenever they get one available.
Having to actually go to the store itself is stupid. Lining up at 3am for a cell phone is insane. |

| The only place I didn't go to was Bestbuy since I already signed up for data a month ago through Rogers so my HUP can only be done at a Rogers store now... |

Also, nerds don't buy iPhones or iPads. We are the ones making fun of them (or jailbreaking them).
If I went back in time and told my highschool past self that in the no too distant future, there would be wannabe nerds. I think my head would have exploded.

Can I redeem myself for wanting the shiny by telling you that back "in the day" I co-sysop'ed a BBS for an ansi/ascii art group, owned a vic 20, or stayed up all night playing, "Magic The Gathering"? Oh yeah, and it's even better because I'm a chick doing all of that... LOL
If it will make you feel better I'll let you jailbreak my phone for me...

Oh wow, this sure brings me back to my BBS days. I used to run my own, I had whooping 4 members, and all of them were my highschool buddies.
Oh and I also want the new iPhone, so it looks like Kevin&Amanda's "geek theory" is faulty. |
