This sounds great Steve!

have you contacted the candidates for HDSB Trustee for Wards 1,6,7&8? I would be interested in hearing from all of them as well...

That's a shame Steve. I wish there was some way they could be included. Trustees are responsible for an annual budget of almost half a billion dollars of public tax money and I imagaine that people would be very interested in knowing more about those candidates and their platforms.
Would it possible to invite the three candidates to atend and be present, should anyone want to talk one on one with them?

Yes, Donna will be there! So far I've got confirmation from Donna, Nancy MacNeil, Brian Hawley has a personal conflict but is working to re-arrange his schedule and will let me know by tomorrow. Sandor Koso (HDCSB candidate) is coming. I'm waiting to hear back from Alam Jafar (HDSB candidate) and Diane Rabenda (HDCSB candidate).

Thanks Steve! I was glad you put it on. It was an interesting evening and I learned more about our candidates and it was great putting faces to the names.

Thanks too for the treats! My son was especially appreciative of the cookies :) . Thank goodness it's not a school day tomorrow (the only reason he came with us and I was able to come).

I didn't attend the meeting but there was an encore speech from one of the candidates at the bar last night. No one can blame a guy for blowing off steam but drinking and driving is never cool.

Really!?! What was the topic of his "Encore" Speech? Which bar?

Well let's just say its highly unlikely he's getting in anyways from all the comments on the forum but he was yelling at someone about not helping him, not handing out flyers etc etc. Then a cab was called after he was asked by the owner to not drive and he said he would walk....only to sneak back a few min later and get in his car. The staff said the police were called and would be meeting him at his house.

Whoa. While I appreciate you choosing to be discreet on names and locations, I think this is very pertinent information about someone who is wishing to help run our town, and would be something the general public almost has a right to know.

I for one would like to know who it is out of fear that he may currently be getting my vote.
