Hey guys, just had a guy at the door (ph15a) trying to sign me up with Ontario Energy Inc. So I told him I wasn't interested.... so he goes to me, "oh I am not trying to sign you up. The reason that I am here is because your smart meter has been disconected and I have to verify something on your bill." So I politely told him to screw off and shut the door.

Your smart meter hasn't been disconnected, don't show this guy your bill.

Scum bags...

Sounds like if you have had this type of an experience with a company and it look like there will be a few replies regarding this business company or salesman's actions. Each person should contact the Better Business Bureau or the company it's self and report this. I'm sure that a lot people has shown there bill.
I would also consider notifying the police as a per caution. One never knows what kind of info there looking for or if they were just trying to get you to leave the room so they can scout your house for a future break in.
Better safe then sorry.

I once fell for a line about how the company wanted my name to be put on a do not solicit list. I happily gave it to him believing they had one as I saw the list of names he had and it included my neighbors.

Few months later I get a letter in the mail welcoming me to the company as a new customer as part of a 3 yr contract. I was so livid that I called and emailed every single executive that works for the company (I love the internet). I was able to get my service cancelled before ever beginning.

Stuff like this angers me to no end. Has anyone ever knocked one of these guys out? It would be very tempting to me. I really hope they don't come to my door with sleazy tactics because I will most likely end up in prison for a night or two.

I resorted to a no soliciting sign. That seems to be keeping them away, at least so far.
