Just wondering if you think Mattamy is full of it or not....I called them to ask if I could upgrade my A/C and Furnance to Carrier's top of the line units (Infinity 96 comfort heat tech) and they told me they couldn't because 'All of our furnaces are engineered specifically for each model type'. They are installing an Aire-Flo 92V (the lowest model they offer according to their website). I just can't believe they wouldn't want to take 1000's more of my money (which I'm sure it would cost) to give me the upgrade. I'm sure an after-market company would come in the day after I move in and put in the carrier, so are they full of it? I guess they don't want my home that efficient. Just doesn't make sense. Any insight to this? Am I being anal at all?

Try calling applewood directly and see what they think, they're the furnace vendor for mattamy (or they were for all previous phases). See if they think a better furnace would help your house, and what the normal price difference is between the model you're getting and the better one. Then with that information try calling mattamy back maybe and seeing if you can escalate.
