Delete them all. There are tons of great things you can get after close reasonably. The standard items look really cheap and just changing them makes a huge difference.

Don't get the towel rack and TP holders. Thy put them in the most rediculous spots. Our TP holders in both bathrooms were knee level while sitting, so basically you have to turn to the side to sit. I am having Mattamy remove them and fix the walls.

I asked Mattamy to keep the soap dishes because I assumed (maybe wrongly) that you had to basically cement the dishes in to make them stable on to the wall? And I figured it would be a total pain to try to do something like that myself. :?

I bought a soap dish holder for our apartment that has suction cups to hold it to the wall. I can't remember the name of the store, but it was in Vaughn Mills. It works awesome, and is easy to clean.

I agree that the ceramic holders look cheap, but is it difficult to install you own fixtures after closing? I mean - if we mess up the wall by not screwing it in properly - we are responsible to fix the wall - right?

Hey there Smiths! I thought the same thing, which is why I decided to delete everything but the soap dishes. The last thing I wanted to be doing was drilling into (and breaking) tiles. Or cementing myself to the wall. But now if everyone's saying the suction cup holders are really good then I guess I should have eliminated the soap dishes afterall. I think my soap dishes will be going in soon, as they have finished tiling the baths and shower now, so next time I go I'll see how good (or bad) they look!

I don't really have an issue with the shower/tub, because we too will probably get some sort of spring-loaded device. My issue is more with the tp holder and the towel bar(s). If we mess up screwing it into the wall then we have to repair the wall and repaint!

Unless you all can tell me that it won't be difficult to do the tp holder and the towel rack?

Oh, well for the towel and tp bars, I'm no pro but I think it's pretty easy to do. I'm just going to get some random man to do it for me. The nice thing is that you can buy nice looking silver bars from Rona or whatever. Umbra makes some really nice ones, and so does Moen and others I'm sure. I think it's one of the easier things to do when it comes to do-it-yourself at home. Worst case scenario, if the hubby does put a hole in the wall, it's pretty easy to fill up - you just buy one of those tubes of filler from the store. :D

I put all our fixtures up... and I am in no way handy.

I did make a small mistake, and put a hole in the wall, but the warranty crew fixed it when they were in the house as a courtesy.

I know this thread is a little old, but I'd delete the soap dishes as well, but for a completely different reason. I use to be an ER nurse and my hubby is a Paramedic....I cannot tell you how many times we have both seen major lacerations on peoples heads becuase they have fallen in the tub and hit their heads on the ceramic soap dishes on the way down. Its something you would never think of, but actually quite common.

So....my vote is for no soap dish!!!

We were wondering about where to put our shower supplies in the shower stall we have in our house.

Sophie bought this at home depot and it works really well.

We have that same shower organizer in our current house and I really dislike it.
Okay, okay, it's very useful, but once it starts to rust, what a pain in the butt.
All the nooks and crannies are impossible to get the rust out from.
