Hi All,
For those of you that have a niche for the fridge, can you please tell me the depth of the recessed wall? Need to determine if we need a counter-depth fridge (much rather have the regular depth to save $$).
Thanks,
Christine

our kitchen has the standard niche for the fridge.. it's only a couple inches deep - just enough for the plug, etc. i know someone that requested a custom upgrade to deepen the recess for his fridge so it would be flush with the counter. but that was back in ph 14a when custom upgrades were still allowed. so i'm not sure if they will do it anymore.

we didn't bother buying the "counter-depth" fridge since my hubby refused to pay extra for a shallower fridge, and there is not as many models to choose from. ours is next to the pantry, so it looks o.k. of course, it would look better if only the Stainless part was showing...
here's a pic:

wow, very nice kitchen!!! I love the dark cabinets and light counter and floor combo. 2 inches.. that's what I thought. A regular depth fridge is 29 inches (without door), so we'd need the recess to be about 5 inches deep. Counter depth is 24' so it sits flush with the cabinets. The price difference is $1,000.00 more for counter-depth. thanks so much for your reply!
Christine :D

thanks! we are really happy with how it turned out.

the cabinets are Canac "Village Cherry Mocha" and are in the Signature 2 level, which was an upgrade. i think it was ~$3500 not incuding adding the pantry, pot drawers and open angle cabint. a little more than we wanted to spend, but all worth it now! :D

now all it needs is under cabinet lighting w/ a valence and a nice backsplash.... just waiting for hubby to have some time.

Excellent choice!!!Village Cherry in Mocha is what we're using for our island. :D I like the contrasting floor and counter top too.
