Thanks for thinking of those in need at thanksgiving.
The local foodbank is operated by the Salvation Army on Nipissing road to the east of Milton Mall just south of the new Winners store. They could use the help and will really need help later in November when they do a community food drive which needs hundreds of volunteers and generous donors.
Other local groups that could use help are the Allendale Long term care centre on Ontario street south, Halton Womens Place, Milton Hospital auxiliary, the Milton seniors centre and Meals on Wheels for people who can drive to shut in residents.
Check the Milton Leisure Services guide for more information online at milton.ca or the fall guide that should have been delivered to every house in the last few weeks.
