Welcome to the forum Apes

I am Andrea and I bought the Mainstreet Town on the side of Magurn Gate. I am in the middle of the block lot 185-4 closing in May 2009.

It is so nice to meet some of the neighbours. Have you been to the site lately? I haven't had the chance since all of that snow we got two weeks ago. I am very excited to get to Milton and am coming from Mississauga as well.
I look forward to meeting you in person at Mattamy U, when ever they decide that is going to be.

Take care

Hi Andrea, It's so nice to meet you (online)...can't wait to meet you in person. I guess I should've mentioned my full name...Apes is my nickname...my real name is April, my husbands name is Joel & my daughter's name is Maiya. We have been to the site just before christmas...but it's just covered in snow...not much to look at right now!

And I guess now would be a good time to introduce myself considering we will be next door neighbours. Hey Andrea, my name is Rob, my wife Jen, and our two children Rebecca (3 1/2) and Michael (10 months) and our Jack Russell Lucy bought lot 75 next door to you. We close September 1st. Nice to meet you :)

Hey Rob,
I know what you mean. I don't think my neighbours have found the forum yet, or if they have they have not joined. I have only met my neighbour 3 doors down to the left, Reg and one behind facing the park, Mary.

Nice meeting you too, Andrea...We live in mississauga as well!! Its been quite sometime since we've been to the site.
By the way, my husband's name is Dayanand and I'm Irene (darene!! go figure..!! )..and we have a little baby girl, Jerusha, who will complete seven months this 10th!!

Have you had your second appointment with your DC? Do you have any idea who the supplier is? I heard it's gonna be 'Flenden'...did I get that right? When is your closing date?

I am sorry I got your name wrong. I just saw an L in your screen name. Anyways Irene I am glad you guys joined the forum.

I have not had my second appointment with Colette yet. It is going to be next week on the 14th I hope. I haven't heard about who we are going to get as a supplier. Where did you hear that it was Flenden? I have never heard of them. Do they have a website we could check out? I did leave Colette my DC a message asking because Wednesday is the only open house at the design center I can go to before my appointment. Maybe I will see you there.

I am closing May 21st 2009. I can hardly beleive we only have just over 4 1/2 months to go. It is going to fly by so quickly. I can't wait to meet every one at Mattamy U. I hope it going to come up soon. :D

Hey guys. we just had our second appointment, the cabinet maker is Frendel and they have the samples at the DC now. Really happy with our choices and the selection as was our consultant Agape, that was the first time she got to work with the new stuff and she seemed really excited about it. Think you'll be happy with what you see.

April and Joel,
It was great meeting you as well. I have to admit when you were talking to the design center ladies when you first came in and said that you were in a Mainstreet, my ears perked up. So I am glad I can now put a name and face together. Good luck with your choices.

I liked what I saw for the standard Frendel cabinets. I will try to go back on the weekend to see what the Upgrade options are as I didn't see everything I was looking for. I am happy that I will be done with all this choosing by next Wednesday.

Now we wait for Mattamy University. I do hope that is coming up soon. So far there has been no word.

Irene and Dayanand
It was great meeting you both in person as well. April thanks for letting me know they were there. I was at the site yesterday during the day and spoke with a construction worker "Vido". He said that they would probably be starting our framing in a few weeks. They just need to back fill the foundation with dirt and pour the concrete slab for the floor. I feel like the end is in sight. 4 months 1 week and 6 days to go. Whoo hoo!!!

Here are some pics from yesterday
This is Vido

Well Rob, I am planning to go on Saturday and Sunday to see what they have for upgrades. I will probably go in the late afternoon after 2pm, so if you want to meet up there with your wife Jen then I look forward to meeting both of you.

Wish we could, but we're swamped this weekend, but I' sure we'll all meet up soon enough ;-) I'm surprised you haven't finished your upgrades yet. We don't close until September and they rushed us through so that we're finished already. Wonder what that was all about...

I wish I was done. My original appointment was in September at the end of the month and the week before that appointment Canac went out of business. Needless to say, my first appointment was structural. I didn't finalize anything because i felt it affected what I would choose as colour upgrades and vise versa. I had my structural appointment again at the end of October and she wouldn't give me a choice. I had to finalize the structural stuff then. I had another appointment booked for the end of November but that was cancelled because they hadn't chosen a cabinet supplier for us yet. The next one was booked for December 9. My DC confirmed with me a week and a half before my appointment that it would be Cartier. I went in and chose my finishes again for the second time. I spent 8 hours over 2 days making sure my cousin and I were set with our selections. She is moving to McTrach in june 09. The friday before my appointment my DC called me to say that I didn't have Cartier as my supplier. How frustrating. My appointment was cancelled again and reset for January next week on the 14. So, with fingers crossed I will be able to choose again next week and be done with the design center. They say that this process is suppose to be fun but now I am just tired of it all.
