Great! Thanks for all the info.
It helps us ballpark everything!
With regards to the sous, executive, master & grande. What do they pertain to? Are they cabinet styles or kitchen layouts? Or perhaps packages for the entire room?? I'm just wondering, for example, what do you get for $14,052??

Staircase

Oak- $2487- $3021 (depends on picket selection)
Maple- $3025-3559 (depends on picket selection)
- this seems to be standard pricing

+ in the design package there is also a line with your model, elevation, etc and pricing specific to that I guess - our pricing is less than listed in the chart (probably because we have a small straight staircase)??

PS- our first appointment at the DC is on January 29th, so I can pass along more info if needed

In regards to the kitchen packages: sous, executive, master, and grande:

I contacted our design consultant- Tiffany and she said that this is a brand new upgrade option for Halton so she will inquire today to find out what these are exactly.

Welcome simps- What a lovely home you have chosen! I don't believe there is anyone on the forum who has purchased the primrose but you can run a search and see what you find. If you would like to be added to our Vista Spreadsheet on page 1 please share your elevation and closing date, lot # and your street and I can add you in.

The cabinet supplier is Frendel and I'm pretty sure that they will be supplying the countertops as well.

As for the colour choices for brick it will be based on your elevation and the order of purchase of those houses on your sreet and around you. So basically if many people around you purchased first and chose an all brick elevation and you did too then your colour choices are narrowed depending on what they choose.

Hope the info helps and welcome to the forum! :D

Hello Simps,
Welcome to VISTA!

We popped in to the Mattamy design centre (out of curiousity), and there wasn't much laid out yet for HV Vista choices/selections. Frendel is the supplier for the countertops and cabinets as well as the hardware for your cabinets. The Frendel Kitchens stuff was still in carts and green boxes. We were told that the cabinet choices won't be put out for another 2 weeks or so.

It was fun to go the centre though and the lady we met there was excellent. Even though our closing is far away and the design centre was packed on Saturday, she still gave us a great tour of the place and gave us a few ideas which I will share.

When thinking about upgrades, think about:

An angled cabinet (you can put in the glass through them or do it yourself later).
A lazy susan cabinet - keep in mind it's tough to clean that cabinet though.
A kickplate in the kitchen for sweeping trash in to.
extra outlet in the garage.
extra outlet for xmas lights outside.
extra outlet on kitchen island (you may want to plug in a laptop????)
delete countertop lip at kitchen wall (the back edge). It is a personal choice and only a cosmetic thing.
delete the ugly bathroom ceramic accessories that Mattamy offers you. Yuk!
deep upper fridge cabinets are handy for storage.
garbage/recycling drawer built into kitchen cabinetry. Not sure if this idea is a good one or not considering the stench from garbage.
pot/pan drawer.
relocate garage water faucet, if necessary.
if you do hardwood stairs, you may wish to do upper hallway too (or do it later)

These were just her suggested upgrades, but of course, they all cost $$$$$

It is good to go to the design centre, but it is a bit of a zoo on the weekends. The people and the choices, make your head spin. I can't imagine the choices we'll have to go through once we actually get our upgrade package in our hands!

If you have any tips or suggestions, please share. There are always things you miss and don't think of yourself, so please share.

Thanks,

I also posted this in the DC section:

Here are the upgrades that we will be going with, our appointment is on January 29th. We decided to only select things we can't change or are more costly or difficult later on. Luckily my future hubby is able to do just about anything around the house- plumbing, electrical, structural... you name it.

9ft ceilings $6525
smooth ceilings (on main floor) $1011
3-piece bathroom rough-in (basement) $586
maple staircase $2101
cold cellar $2499
angled tile (main floor only) $843

so for us our total will be $13,565.00 (smallest house on our street)

we were happy to find out our door entry from garage is included and the basement windows are large enough.

Hello Simps,
Welcome to the Vista group!
Congrats on your primrose. Beautiful floorplan!
We are also considering outsourscing the coutertop. I think it's much cheaper that way.
Cookiepaws, congrats on going through with the 9ft ceilings!
You won't regret it!!

The DC is really trying to find out what the "kitchen packages" are but they still have not been informed yet, I spoke with my consultant today.

It was suggested I get pre-approved for whatever the bank will allow and just come in. HAHAHA that is so not going to happen- nice try on the DC- I will not show them the approval page with our MAX $ amount. We don't want pressure to "upgrade" to our max.

We chose our upgrades and we are only getting approved for those.
so, too bad for us if we want a kitchen package- guess Mattamy should figure out what they offering.
