I try and go every weekend, but if you see any significant changes on our lot (65) then that would be cool 8)

Rob where do you live/work now if you don't mind me asking?

OK I lied buddy.. they haven't gotten to your roof yet.... will snap some pix tomorrow for you :)

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :(

you got our hopes up... lol... maybe they'll have it up by tomorrow.. who knows!

I just had this thought since it's going to rain tomorrow ... how does all that water affect the "inside" of the house? obviously this happens all the time..... ahhh guess there's noting that can be done about it anyway...

I honestly wouldn't doubt it... they were working on the third floor of your place so a roof before the weekend is definitely not out of the question... ya houses get rained in all the time... no biggy at this stage at all... only would have to worry if there was drywall/insulation/etc...

ya, if you got time to take pics and it's not too crappy outside that would be greatly appreciated!

How bout with the specific wood that they use for framing? some of the 2x4's I saw were kind of "rotted" in some spots?? like should I get that picky? or at the end of the day it won't make a diff?

forgive me for the noob questions

Rotted would be a problem... but it's probably knotted would be my guess... you should snag some pix and ask Andy (the home inspector guy on here), he'd be able to tell you if it's a problem

Hi Detachers.

Doug and Julie welcome to the forum! :D It is really great to have you online. This forum will give you a great opportunity to virtually meet your neighbours months before you move in. It was great meeting you two last week as well. Your house is coming along nicely. I aslo met the neighbours that are in the detached house that is already built. They are Basil and Sandra. A really nice couple. I don't think they have moved in yet. With all the construction going on I think they decided to wait a bit. The street is looking really good. The community is coming along and I can't wait till you have all moved in. Then we can have our street party on the laneway. Rob and Ed thankyou for taking over the torch of posting pictures. Now that I am back to work I miss all the consturction going on and by time I get home it is getting dark. I did get to watch Lisa and Pauls slab get poured the other day but didn't have my camara to take pics. Sorry guys

Any how there are I think only two left on the street to meet now. Lot 77 and lot 66. Hopefully they will be out by the site soon. Their homes are coming along so who knows.

is there any way we can have an update on the "map" we had with all the lots and people's names?

I didn't realize there were only 2 lots left that were "unclaimed" or not HawthorneVillager'ed yet...

I am not the the TorStar writer so not to worry about that.
Are we all closing in August? Did anyone's closing dates get pushed back?
Looking forward to meeting everyone.
I met Andrea from down the street _ I am pretty sure she has met lot #66.
Wish the rain would stop for about 2 weeks!
Cheers

No most people are closing later I believe, We close September 1st, I think Tony and Stella are the last closing in November... So I guess scattered between now and then ;-)

OK so where are we?Ahhhh right the houses...

Image

Doug, your house is furthest along... they're bricking Sheyer so I imagine you're not too far off...

Image
Fitdiculous, up to floor number 3, no roof yet

Image
Kozm, foundation laid, material there waiting...

Image
Lisa, Paul, first floor down, second under construction...

Image
Tony, Stella... YOU HAVE A HOLE!!!! (I would imagine you'll have a footprint very shortly as well ;-) )

Image
April/Joel, as predicted, you have a roof! (Before us even ;-) )

Image
And just a shot of what will be the park, they've staked it, looks like they'll be working on that shortly as well...

And that's it for today... Maybe we'll see a few of you this weekend there :)

Rob,
The picturese look great. Thanks for posting them. I was forgetting who had what lot so thanks for putting their names up there.
I drove around there this evening and saw that Tony and Stella's dirt has been dug. I am happy for them because the next 4 months will fly by.

lol, no worries man... like Andrea was saying, now that you got a hole things will pick up... I could remember it was like yesterday when we had nothing but a puddle of water...

I wonder what it is.. maybe the it's the type of people we are? Mainstreet Homes are cooler :D
