We stopped by our house this evening as we knew the tile was being installed this week. We think it's hideous, but that's not the issue.
We looked through the kitchen window for a different angle and noticed that there was water all over the floor- it was coming from the second floor ceiling, then we looked in the basement window- the ground was soaked. WE called the emergency number and they'll be ripping out our drywall and I imagine our tiles as well. ho hum...

Cookiepaws that is HORRIBLE! I'm so sorry that there is water all over the place- what a disappointment- it's a good thing that you saw it! However I have to say that it's better that if it has to happen at all that it happen now than when you are moved into the house :(

And do you really not like the tile you picked? If they have to replace it due to the water damage- I wonder if you could get them to change them completely?

Please keep us posted on how things go!

In other breaking Vista news (well Nunn court news :) ) The footings for 4 of the 5 lots on my side of the street are in! We drove by today and were so excited! Whoo hoo

Steph&Sean- I don't know if you have been out lately but your footings are done and just need the cement poured in them so now we can all see exactly where our lots are situated on the land- it's coming together! YAH!

Our drywall is going to be replaced for sure.

The tile on our main floor was not what we selected, lines of grey and orange tiles in a pattern. yech! (not our taste anyway) They are the style of tile but not the colour we selected.
So we expect those will be replaced regardless of the water leak or not. Not sure about the ensuite tiles as the floor underneath would be wet and we don't want mold in the grout...

Nothing quite like water leaking from the top floor to the basement...

For those who are wondering if Cogeco will be servicing the subdivision - we requested a field check for our address (Gooch Cres.) and they have advised that it will be another 1.5 months before service is available.

We went by our home yesterday (or hole in ground). Your place is looking sweet. They had our floor in front of our place and wood for the structure, so hopefully if the rain holds off we will see progress in ours. :)

Thanks! I know, its really coming together now. We should have our tiles and flooring installed this week or next. Ryan, at our framewalk, said the first week of July. So, We'll see how accurate he is. lol.

Thats awesome to hear about your house. Hopefully they start working for you soon! We're sick of looking at your hole in the ground! :P lol. Plus, your trips wont seem so meaningless anymore! lol. Once they start, something new happens every week.

Go little turtle go! You can DO it! :)

We are so sorry our neighbours have to stare at our hole...so embarrassing!!

We passed by our hole today. It's still a hole but the neighbours beside us were getting their basement back wall put in, so I'm sure ours will be put in this week *fingers crossed*.

haha. He's truggin' right along. I wish he moved faster though!!! GRR

HAHA. Its ok. We are used to looking at your basement now :P haha.

I noticed the one between us was getting their basement walls up too. We went there yesterday... only one guy working though. lol

Hi All,
It was brought to my attention by another Vista homeowner that the Exterior Columns on the outside of Vista homes are a white plastic, and should actually be a color matched vinyl like the railings. The painters are painting these columns to match the correct color, but we were supposed to get columns and railings that were essentially maintenance free. These columns made fade and chip in the future which means the home owner will have to repaint, and try to match the color (which maybe difficult). Was anybody else aware of these issues and what can we do to get this resolved??? The sales office confirmed that they should be vinyl match and not painted….

Hmmm I'm not liking the sound of these white pillars to be painted- as it is i'm already paying someone over 300 to paint my pillars here and the top of my house! This was one of the main reasons we bought our new home/elevation etc. because we knew that the pillars were now vinyl with little to no maintanence. Has anyone contacted their builder about this? My house only has a foundation right now so I have no one to touch base with..
