I am not sure what the surprise is.

Didn't you drive around before you bought?

I now understand why our single lane driveway will only cost $300 to pave.

It’s only 150 sq/ft!!!

Wow, you are lucky. I think ours cost $500.00 but I would have to check again.

All builders will maximize profits by just doing code, not just Mattamy

SWright I hear ya! It is dissapointing to the lack of outdoor space in houses these days but the indoor is beautiful and plus I think its different seeing other places then your own. I had seen the garages on other peoples now that our garage is built I'm like, wow its "cozy". Unfortunately though it does seem to be most builders, if you ever do move you might want to look at town by laws, I know Georgetowns by-laws required bigger front and back yards when we were looking a year and a half ago

I am wearing a helmut when walking by your house in case you are opening your trunk!!!

We are currently in the old part of Milton and have a large lot area. It's tough to let go but we needed a larger house to accomindate future new members. I was shocked at first to find the new lots so small; especially when there are lots of land around Milton. Just take a drive outside of town and you'll see. Prices for land should be cheaper one would think? On the plus side I think having a neighbour closer forces us to interact with each other. My neighbours are far enough from me that I would not have to say hi unless we were both doing some gardening near the border of our lots. Heck, I've lived here for 5 years and didn't even have to say hi to the lady across the street. Doing so would require me to yell at the top of my lung. :)

Any one ever looked into buying a chunck of land and getting a builder to build the house YOU want (no upgrade costs) on it? I wonder how the cost would compare.
