So Rick, or anyone else that can answer the question:
I've noticed that there are several words which are in a blue font and double underlined on this website. They seem to have nothing in common other than that they might be seen as 'key words' for their respective messages. Is this some kind of new application this message board is doing? I'm curious to know what's up?

I've tried to find out what you mean, but I can't find anything...

Do you have a Google or Yahoo addon bar installed on your browser? Some of these have a feature that will highlight and link words to other sites.

Mark,

You should have addwares/spywares. A free scanner/cleaner can be found here:

I definately agree with Greg, I'd run a current version of your virus scan, even if you have one that runs all the time anyhow. Sounds like you've got some yuckies!! :x

Well, I'm a PC user and have never had a virus problem since I upgraded from Win3.11 to Win95, that should have been early '96 I guess.

Thanks for the advice. I've never had a virus problem either, but am running a Norton Anti-Virus scan. If nothing comes up I'll try to download that dakaardian suggested, and see if that helps.

OK done.

There were 41 'at risk' files on my computer. All of them were of a thread called "Adware". Norton AntiVirus allowed me to automatically delete 18 of them... How do I get rid of the others?

Marc, there is no way to completely block pop-ups. A good solution I found, that blocks most pop-ups is:

1. Use Maxthon browser (free), it is a shell that runs on top of Internet Explores bus gives you more options in fighting pop-ups and spyware as well as offers new features as tabbed browsing (www.maxthon.com);

2. Use ZoneAlarm Pro. It is a Firewall/Antivirus/ADware remover in one. It is not free (www.zonelabs.com) but dos the work very well.

Good luck.

There shouldn't be anything double-underlined on the website. Could be as people said about the adware/spyware stuff might be on your machine. I've had problems with that before.

I used to use a product from Lavasoft called "Adaware" (www.lavasoft.com) for this but just noticed on their website that it doesn't appear free anymore they're makig you pay now before you can download it :( You used to be able to download a free trial version.

Go to download.com and get it. I got it for one of my networked computers last night...so far free :roll: That version was 1.06 or something. I use 1.05 version and don't upgrade it, just update the adaware file.

I have a copy of the .exe file for adaware if you can't get it....I'm not sure what version it is, but it does the trick for me.
