I must disagree, about time there are some commercial services in the area.

I like the idea of little strip malls through out subdivisions. The less I have to drive, the better. That also means less traffic at Derry/Thompson and other intersections.

These new stores or Gas stations will not attract more motorists or traffic, it will just make it more convenient for us who live in the area. I highly doubt someone living at Laurier and Gowland will load up the car with the family to drive to HV to get gas or buy donuts, they will go to Derry and 25.

Any thoughts on this?

We just bought our second Mattamy house (Phase 14, Lot 220) and when we looked at the neighbourhood plan at the sales centre it shows a gas station at the corner of Derry and Thompson on the SW corner! I think it is great.....right now we come in from the 401 off Trafalgar and the only gas station we pass is the Pioneer which I am not a big fan of, so I am ready for a new station!

Last night at Mattamy U we were told that it was 3rd line (Thompson) and Derry, south west corner that a proposal was submitted for. He thought it would be a Petro-Canada.

There also will be a strip plaza at Holly and Derry, similar to the one at Trudeau.
