So we bought the newer model front loading GE washer/Dryer and tried it on last Sunday....
We were keeping a watch on the washing machine and towards the last 20 minutes when it was on its peak level it was vibrating and moving, more kind of dancin. I had to hold it or the washer would have walked out of our house
Does anyone know how to prevent the vibration?

Make sure the washer/dryer is level. Sometime, especially when washing bulky itemsd, the front load washers do vibrate cause the load can not be auto-balanced.

Don't take it the wrong way Trini, but did you level it?

I have the LG washer and it is quieter than my dryer and I had the dryer serviced once already for noise. That reminds me to give LG a call again

I notice that for the 2nd floor laundry, that the light in the enterance vibrates during the spin cycle.

Nope, I did not cos I was in a hurry to see the performance and towards the end it was the salsa dance with washer and me.......
I will level it tonight and hope it does not or less vibrate.....

I had the same problem Trini....you just have to level it, and I found it was quite picky and a process to level mine.....but you just have to keep tweaking it until it is right. I also find mine does the dance when I overload it...you can fill it, but make sure the load is not too heavy...ie. all jeans, and a comforter, etc.

I've found that even after it is levelled, vibration can still occure when the load is off balanced. I've managed to reduce it by putting packing foam under washer. You need to get the type that is like a firm spong. Place them in a picture frame shape under the primeter of the washer. The whole washer sits on it. This will prevent walking, breaking tiles, and reduce vibration.

Thanks Paul and to all you folks... In the instructions it says to remove the shipping bolts, failure to do so will result in "dancing with your washer" just kiddin.... I did remove the bolts behind the washer and it was like "Waltzing with GE" very quite and just a bit of vibration towards the end....
