Hey Andrea,

Long time to see... I sent you a PM a while back, just wanted to make sure you got it.. it was in regards to backsplash

Hey there Ed, I am sorry I didn't get back to you. I did get your message and I actually don't have a backsplash in the house yet. I plan to get one but havn't done it yet.

A

no worries.. were you going to go with universaltile again? he did your old house?

Hey Ed,

The gentleman that I used for my condo was a man named John Lisi. He was eccellent. I don't remember what his screen name was, but he did and excellent job. If you go with him you won't be disappointed. I am planning to use him again as well when I do finally get my backsplash installed in the future.

Yup, that's the dude on here named UniversalTile I believe... was his pricing fair? flexible with your hours? work warrantied?

I've been emailing with him back and forth and just stopped hearing from him for the past week and a half for some reason  ... Backsplash can wait for us... although we would want it done while the rest of our kitchen is being done

Ed,
I don't think he can install while your kitchen is being put in unless he works for Mattamy. I think it is something you will have to wait for until after closing.

Don't worry about him not responding. He was going to be moving into the area aswell. Maybe his is the process of moving himself. :D

sorry, when I meant by "having our kitchen done" at the same time was the granite ... and that's done by an outside company after closing. I guess the counters would need to be 100% done anyway, but we were hoping it would all be done more or less around the same time...

Hi All!

The street is looking good .... we drove by tonight and I think April & Joel's or Rob & Jen's place both had lights inside turned on ... so cool to see light on the street from the park!

Michanda - We drove by earlier and I think saw you at your place by your door measuring something??? Yes???

Oh and if any of you haven't been to Kelso Park for a picnic or a bike ride or a hike or even a swim on that lake ... your missing out what a great place ... we were there today for a picnic and swim!!!

Cheers,
T

I have been trying to go to Kelso Lake all summer but it was a bust :( Either it was too cold, or raining, or Rob couldn't go because of work, and I can't take the kids by myself.

Can't wait for the fall and apple picking at Chudleigh's! That is so much fun - and very yummy too :D

T-3 days to go until possession!!! :D :D :D

Hey Rob & Jen,

Good luck on your closing, hope everything goes smoothly. See you next week!!! :D

Thanks April :)

When are you guys doing your PDI? We're off and at the house all week so if you have time (and if you want to) drop by so that I can introduce you to my other half ;-)

We just got back from our PDI. It went pretty well. Just a few things I've noticed. A loose brick, broken drain, handprints on our stained railings. They were working on our siding as we were doing our PDI, so couldn't really complain about that. Rob & Jen, I noticed your front door open & thought maybe you already had your keys. I can't believe I still haven't met you Jen! Anyhow, next week is going to come really fast...I'm sure we'll meet as we're moving. We plan on moving between the 9th & 12th. Just can't wait to get those keys!!!

No they're cleaning... I got the call about 15 minutes ago from my lawyer saying we are officially CLOSED :D Called the construction office, they're still waiting for word from Head Office, but said it shouldn't be long if my lawyer has already called so I'm gonna head out soon. Guess we'll see you two next week ;-)

Thanks guys :)

It's nice to finally get the keys, even though it really hasn't been all THAT long .... Nicer to finally get to meet Andrea though ;-)

A couple of tips for you guys, they go over your PDI repairs when you get your keys. They got most of ours, but we found some additional ones, so just be prepared for that.

CHECK YOUR TOILETS.... Not for bad stuff, but one of ours wasn't put together right so when we flushed it, the water just kept going and going and going... not good for the water bill I would imagine..

Turn on your air conditioning when you start the tour and make sure it works... I would have loved this advice because as it turns out, ours does not.... and I didn't do this until after they left... now they gotta come back to fix it and it's like a freaking sauna in there....

Think that's it... Ohhh I asked Clint about the front of our houses (for us hoighty toighty park people, not the lamers that have no park in front of their house *cough* Michele and Amanda*cough* ;-) ). They're just finishing Tony and Stella's and April and Joel's friends brick and siding, once they do that they're grading, he thinks it should be done within the next few weeks, but definitely before winter hits :D

Rob and Jen,
Congratulations on getting those keys in your hands. Rob thanks for the tour of your Vallymore. I love the layout.

It was great to finally put names and faces together.

After everyone else gets their keys we will have to have that street/laneway party. Hopefully it won't be too cold.
