Can anybody confirm if the Island in the Chef's Kitchen option is movable or fixed?
the location of the Island could be differrent than in the plan????? we want to have the position of the island a little different.

We are seriously considering to go back to the orginal plan for the Kitchen, after seeing the Plan carefully, we found that it will eatup the breakfast area, we have planed to utilize it with a table, but this will not be possible with the Chef's Kitchen, and no option for the Pentry.
what is the other advantage to have the Chef's kitchen other than a bigger island in the Centre
???????
One more question, it's a little stupid one but can you explain me what are the floor arches, I can't visualize it, I also saw it in my contract with the Kitchen upgrade, it's mentioned about the relocation of flat arch. don't exactly understand FLOOR and FLAT Arhces. a picture would be fantastic.

Lastly, we went for the Enclosed Den and fire place option which take the Garden door to the Great room. I have mostly seen the Patio door in the Kitchen. My concern is that it will screw up the greatroom specially if the room would be Carpetted??? messy boots, snow, mud etc.
even with the Standard Plan, the Patio door is in the Den which will create the same problem.
this is a only drawback I found in plan 7 with the location of the kitchen and door not from the Kitchen.

Any thoughts

hi farhan, while i also liked the idea of the larger island, the inabililty to get the pantry and the loss of the eating area sold us on keeping the standard. however, i believe the island is not fixed, so, you could rotate to orient the same was as the standard island for day to day use and on special occasions you have the option of moving it back out to lay food and drink out on. don't worry, i highly doubt you'll regret choosing the option. as for the pantry, yeah, it sucks not being able to have the pantry, but, i'm assuming there will be enough cabinet space as it is.

the backyard door is an issue, i agree, but, i believe its better in the great room than in the den. especailly with a little one, i want to be able to see when he goes out and hiding the door in the den would make it too easy for him to sneak out :)

thanks Chargar and d.del for your input.
Overall, the standrad kitchen option has more +ve aspects i.e. pantry.
we also think that having the door from the den wouldn't make sense, in my case, it will be my office.
i would love to hear some ideas about how would you protect the carpet to get messy when people will use that door as an access to the backyard, i.e. BBQ parties, kids play time etc. let me know if you would have some good ideas for set-up of that room (we're planning to make it a Formal room for guests), that will be hardly used (other than a passage to the backyard).
i have also added the side entry option, that could also be a path the backyard,

I was surprised to see the increase in price for spirit Homes. I went to Sales Centre today and took a Price list. there's an increase to all but have a look at plan 7:

Elv. A: $377,990
Elv. B: $383,990
Elv. C: $391,990

Now I know that the prices on the website are about $10K less than this and I asked the girl the same thing, she told me that the prices are these for the last 2 week. not sure which one is ture
But if these prices are correct then I'm on Elv. C and it's a $41K increase

Wondering whats the catch :? :?

hi plan 7's,

do you know if there is an option to add an extra sink to the ensuite and hallway bathrooms? the book has the option listed, but, i don't remember seeing it as a option on the floor plan like some other layouts had.

farhan, as for the garden door in the great room, we just plan to make good use of our carpet cleaner to take care of the great room carpet :) unfortunately, no other advice or feedback

one more question for those that have done their structural appointment.

i'm thinking of adding a vaulted barrel arch in the "hallway" between the living room and the dining room (the diamond shape thingy), but, the area has a dropped ceiling and dropped ceilings are normally in place because of electrical or plumbing requirements.

any idea if this option is available. i've emailed patrizia, my design consultant, but, haven't heard back from her.

a few more things than expected. we actually had to do our kitchen stuff yesterday because we chose the Grande which involves moving the stove and getting the cooktop and that impacted electrical/structural stuff.

we had it budgeted, just not for yesterday

so, the big things:
    grande kitchen
    glass shower
    stairs w/ metal pickets
steel garage door (the hubby just wouldn't let this one go :) )
    taller doors

then a bunch of little stuff

we wanted central vac and pot lights, but, i really don't need central vac or pot lights and they charge an arm and a leg, so, we left it off. maybe one day *sigh*

we're sticking with the included tile lines and carpet, so, our next appointment will be a lot cheaper :)

Hi
Did anynody chose the hardwood floor staircase? I'm going for All Oak. My question is about the Stain. want to know about the total cost for the stain. I think it's $980, but the price list calls for this price to be per flight. do we have One flight?????

Please let me know if anybody has gone for this option.............
