I'm looking for a really GOOD steak restaurant in Milton... any recommendations would be appreciated!

doesn't have to be as "fancy" as a place like La Castile or Harbour Sixty.... even something similar to a place like Canyon Creek would be nice. It's all about the food!!!

best I've found in town is the steak at Caseys... N.B. rare will get you medium rare but they are getting better.

Yup.. sorry man. let me know if you come across anything better :) I often opt to spend the additional $ and go to La Toscana for the lamb.

a Milestones would do well here if there's anyone thinking of opening one up. I'll be there once a week at least for the prime rib.

I liked the steaks at Montana's in Milton. I recently had their special pepercorn steak last week and it was quite good.

Harrop's also has great steaks in Milton. Although you may find it a bit on the 'fancy' side of the equation.

I haven't had a steak in a restaurant in years. I'd rather just bbq them myself at home.

I usually buy the big beef tenderloins at Costco and cut myself some nice 3/4 inch steaks and put them in the chest freezer.

When I thaw them out, I put them on cookie cooking racks above plates so the steaks won't be sitting in any excess blood/water. If I take them out before work, they in great shape when I get home. I also sprinkle a bit of sugar on them an hour or two before throwing them on the bbq, and salt + pepper (hand cracked peppercorns if I'm not feeling lazy) right before they hit the grill.

Best steaks I've ever eaten.

The bonus to cutting my own beef tenderloins, all the little bits that are too small to make steaks of, I save up until I have enough to make beef stew. Beef stew with filet mignon = heaven.

I know, it's not in town, and I know it's astronomically priced --- but nothing beats a Ruth's Chris steak. Now i'm craving a really good filet.

There is a new Keg that opened up near Winston Churchill and the 401 (beside the new Toys R Us). Fantastic!

just went on Harrop's website and ya it's a bit fancy, but nothing outrageous as far as pricing... the ambience actually looks quite nice... If the steak's are good then that's all I'm really looking for! except I don't would rather not have the bar/pub style like the montana's, or the keg's etc.... It's for my wife's bday and it's a tradition we go out and eat good steaks :) I just wanted to get a taste for something locally instead of going into Toronto etc...

that's where we've gone for the last couple of bday dinners, both mine and her, and we LOVE Ruth Chris, but I wanted to surprise her with something else... for the price we think it's worth it, but like I said in a previous post, would love to find a good steak restaurant locally

Ditto!

The savings is huge and their meat is excellent. That's how I justify opening an excellent Napa Cab or two to help wash my 1" filets down (blue rare of course)

Another vote for the Kirkland Tenderloin from Costco. Amazing quaility and value! I am interested in trying Harrop for their steak or at least hearing about it.

If you want to drive to Oakville I would checkout The Omega (Speers & Kerr). Very good Steak & Seafood, nice ambiance, a bit pricey...I would say it's a little more expensive then The Keg. They make a yummy cesare salad right at your table, and certain other dishes and desserts are cooked tableside as well.
