Great posts, big ... except any mention of gortat becoming a raptor.
Please oh please don't bring him here!

Why is that? I think he's solid. Not a bubble head like Bargnani. Ok, 2 different games here but we need the defensive side improved. Is it only me who like Gortat?

If James signs with the Knicks, the rest of the league will anticipate the building of a dynasty. But it will take a huge leap of faith by James as the Knicks will need at least a couple of years to fill out their roster around him.

If James or Wade or Bosh for that matter sign with the Knicks, then they are liars pure and simple. Winning is not their motivation. If they want to win, the Bulls are the only team who can give them that (among those with the cap space), otherwise, everyone of those guys is better off resigning with their current teams, even the lowly Raptors.

And now you can also read it in the New York Times. However, Wade is not part of it. Wade and LeBron together is almost impossible.
The effect of OBAMA!!!

"NBA exec: LeBron to Bulls is ‘done deal’

The top five contenders in the LeBron Sweepstakes will meet with the King in Akron, Ohio, starting July 1, but according to one team executive, the meetings are just a formality.

After numerous discussions with NBA colleagues, the executive told the New York Times’ Jonathan Abrams on Saturday that LeBron is strongly leaning toward the Bulls in a tandem with fellow max free agent Chris Bosh.

“I think it’s a done deal,” the executive said.

He said he thought LeBron was going ahead with the meetings just to save face and “be respectful to all these teams who jumped through these hoops,” such as the Knicks, who have used the past two seasons to trade away talent and clear cap space with the hope of landing James this summer. If he and Bosh do join up in Chicago, the Knicks’ moves will have essentially been for nothing.

The executive also said the Mavericks were trying to join the leading suitors and land a meeting with The Chosen One. But Mark Cuban’s club is already over the salary cap and could only get James only through a sign-and-trade deal with the Cavs.

But back to the Bulls: On draft day, they traded away Kirk Hinrich to put them $29.2 million under the projected salary cap of $56.1 million next season, and though it’s still not enough space to sign both LBJ and Bosh to max deals, the exec seemed certain they could make another move to acquire both. Meaning Chicago’s rotation next season could include a solid set with Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, James and Bosh. [New York Times]

Aaaaaaand.... Here is the denial of the news from NBA.COM

Chris Bosh hasn’t decided on signing with Chicago or any other team, his agent told NBA.com on Sunday. A report out of New York said the soon-to-be Toronto free agent was leaning towards joining the Bulls, along with LeBron James.

“Completely untrue,” Bosh’s agent Henry Thomas told NBA.com via email. “He hasn’t decided anything.”

The most-heralded free agency class of all-time is headlined by James, Dwyane Wade and Bosh. Wade is also a Thomas client. Thomas also told NBA.com recently that Wade and Bosh would keep all their options open.

James has decided, according to various reports, to host potential suitors in Ohio once free agency officially opens Thursday. The six teams believed to be visiting LeBron on his turf are Cleveland, New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Miami and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Dallas is trying to get into that mix, a league source told NBA.com Sunday. The Mavericks are hopelessly over the cap, but that hasn’t dampened the front office’s enthusiasm for making a pitch for the league’s most-coveted free agent.

Bosh was recently in Miami and has listed the Heat as a possible destination. Toronto general manager Bryan Colangelo has also said that the Raptors would consider a sign-and-trade with Bosh if a new deal isn’t worked out.

General manager Bryan Colangelo says "it's likely" that free agent forward Chris Bosh will leave the Toronto Raptors. (as heard on Fan590 and read at NBA.com)

I believe this was the last nail in the coffin. For Colangelo to come out negative rather than show energy and positive attitude, it means done deal. Goodbye Bosh. Welcome to the 4th rebuilding season. Let the work begin...

Brian Colangelo on 590, Bosh is gone!

one deal.

General manager Bryan Colangelo told Toronto all-sports radio station the FAN 590 on Monday that he expects the all-star forward to leave as a free agent.

Making his strongest statements yet on the subject, Colangelo added that he was hopeful Bosh would help the Raptors get something in return.

"I think it's likely that he will leave," Colangelo said. "The question is will he put us in a position to benefit from the sign and trade scenario that can net him the most money and us something coming back."

Colangelo's comments come amid a wild bout of speculation that Bosh is headed to either the Miami Heat or Chicago Bulls.

Detroit Pistons forward and former Raptor Charlie Villanueva posted on his Twitter account that Bosh was headed to Miami.

"Sorry to break Toronto heart, I love that city, but Chris Bosh is heading to Miami," he wrote.

Earlier Twitter talk had Bosh headed to Chicago.

Colangelo said it seemed like "there was a movement" for Bosh and fellow free agents LeBron James and Dwyane Wade to end up in the same spot.

Wade is currently with the Heat, while the Cleveland Cavaliers are pressing hard to re-sign James.

The Raptors haven't given up on bringing back Bosh, Colangelo added, but they were just facing reality.

"I still have that intention and that desire but it's becoming more and more clear that's not going to happen," he said. "Now we need to decide what the best way is to come out of this."

A report from Miami says the Raptors and Heat have agreed to a sign-and-trade transaction that would see Chris Bosh head to Florida in return for a package that includes forward Michael Beasley, guard Mario Chalmers, centre-forward Joel Anthony along with a trade exception and possibly draft picks.

Yeah, as good as it's going to get, I suppose. Would've liked a 1st rounder to be included, but if Beasley can ever show the potential that lead him to be drafted 2nd overall, it's not a bad deal at all.

I hope this does not fall through. Never been a fan of Beasley.
With Ed Davis on board, I would like to see our 20/10 guy leave for a good SG or SF. Someone you can build a team around. Unless we land another 20/10 like Lee.

More reports are suggesting Bynum/Odom deal once again.

The Knicks shift directions:

Offer Stoudamire $100 million max deal and go after Tony Parker...
If Stoudamire signs, Bosh will be off the list

The longer it goes on with Bosh, the more likely it is he's staying.
