Shocked to see Mattamy scored second highest in customer satisfaction.

My condo was built by the Conservatory Group and believe me, they deserve their last place ranking.

Just because the majority of this board is full of Mattamy complaints, doesn't mean the majority of Mattamy customers are all unhappy with their home.

This board is the (very) vocal (very) minority.

I'm actually quite happy with my Mattamy home. My only two complaints would be that some of kitchen cupboards are wonky and our sump seems to be a touch below the water table.

Agreed. Rarely will someone come online and post their "happy" experience. People only post complaints. That's why you gotta be careful when reading reviews anywhere on the Internet.

I actually like my Mattamy home. Yes there've been issues and yes some things disappoint but overall, the experience has been much better than some of my non-mattamy friends. This is actually the 2nd Mattamy house we've had and it's become a real home for us flaws and all. 2nd place is probably a good place for them to be. Maybe it'll make them try harder instead of taking their customers for granted.

This and very forum is absolutely legitimate for real judgment of Mattamy homes. Because I have never seen Mattamy advertisement here
The HV and HVE are most likely biggest Mattamy constructions sites in fastest growing city in Canada as well.

Constriction sloppiness should be Mattamy real brand.

We have third Mattamy home and just left one which we were renting.
Based on our family experience I can’t justify anymore why 2500 sq.f new house from them is close to 500K . And how it could be build as wide lot on 36’ :?:

Building materials, choices in design center, contractors they hire, changes in their initial design they would allow and sizes of their lots are far bellow the average. So cheap it all is.
The only thing they have better is after closing customers service. But, again, not so many qualified people in their service team and between contractors they would hire.

The only reason why we have several homes with Mattamy – they sell them cheaper compare to another builders. But only for two reasons – smaller lots and less options included in standard list. Well, they have good sales office, nice people, but it is not Matttamy. The only big thing which is terrible with their sales office – they and Mattamy are refusing to tell you where sidewalk is. But they knew it.

Our normal buying routine with Mattamy – select from poor choices in design center, getting mocked by them then asking for some little changes, move in (with delay as normal) and have big list of issues which we need to keep on bugging them.

It is not a secret as well, what they will specifically ask you for better review and you could ask them for small kickback (something to be done in the house for free) once they knew the questionnaire list is coming to your house.

We've been quite happy with Mattamy. We had a few issues on our one-year and 30 day that were surprising (bricking over the dryer vent outlet), but Mattamy has been prompt at fixing everything we've asked about. I've been very pleased with the customer service thus far and we love our home.

Personally, I think all the builders are the same in quality. Their all in it to make the money and the cheapest trades person\supplier gets the job.

This is my first home, and it's a Mattamy. Compared to what I heard from my friends who are with other builders, Mattamy isn't bad at all. Sure there's some bumps here and there, but every company has them.

As for the scoring, they weren't that much lower than "#1"...

In my opinion, Mattamy is great BEFORE you sign off the questionnaire, after that the difference in service was shocking to me, you realize you were taken for a ride.

The workers let you know their bonus is tied to how you fill the form and on hindsight, the caring seemed to be all about you filling 'that form'.

I also noticed they lost the homebuilder of the year award they had last year to Monarch homes this year. If you are within your 'honeymoon' period (1st 6 months) with them, make the most of it, it wont last forever!

Good to know. I'll hold off filling that out until 1 year after closing...

I wouldn't not buy another Mattamy but I wouldn't go with Mattamy definately either. We had to book a Tarion inspection before they finally got off there asses to fix the issues we had. And they certainly made sure we called off the Tarion inspeciton after they did as they were supposed to do in the first place.

We're very happy with our home and gave Mattamy a good rating. We filled out our survey quite early in the process and Mattamy definitely didn't ignore us afterwards. We're pleased all around, both pre- and post-survey.

I'm not saying that some people didn't have issues, nor am I trying to minimize those that did. I'm simply saying that I think there are a lot of people who've had great experiences, as indicated by the survey results, but these people (like ourselves until now) don't tend to jump on the site and say so. By their very nature internet boards tend to accentuate the negative versus the positive.
