This a real problem with people today--- "If I don't have to deal with it everyday, it's not a problem" People really don't care about the things that dont directly impact them.

I am dealing the same ignorance everyday--- people speeding way too fast down my street (Yates). Because its not their street --- they dont care.

Im sure if the garbage was dumped in front of their house or the cars were speeding on their street==== they would start seeing it as a problem and begin to complain!

I do not think the blame is fully on the dumpers, what about the builder who is doing nothing to prevent it??

Tim,

I'd TOTALLY do it...that is an awesome idea.....and or report it to the police. It's ridiculous.

I would try to get rid of this problem before the warmer weather comes.....or we're going to see the kids playing in it too. Oh my some people have absolutely no respect, this is where you live people.....can you imagine in 5 years from now???!!

:(

We had the same problem for our house.

A few weeks before we moved in,
Mattamy had put the trash bin in front of our porch
(on our lot).
You have to understand that we were
the firelot with the house next to ours!

How, not even after a week, our "house/lot"
looked like a dump! People moving in were throwing their
empty boxes in there and odds/ends. EVERYTHING!

I'd say take those pics and send them to the cops!
And get the builder involve!

Sandra

The problem is that there is no sign (I think) that says no dumping and has the milton by-law number on it. I doubt pictures will get anyone in trouble. It may though put pressure on the builder to get their act together.

I know it sounds stupid, but without a sign, nothing can be done. Just like parking your car in a parking lot. No Sign, they cannot tow.

There are dumping bylaws in the town and I agree with you. Its always better when its in front of someone elses house. I remember when we first moved in the area (yates thompson) people used dumpsters for everything and it became an eyesore.

The builder should try to do a little more, maybe post some signs to say please dont dump...i havent gone by to see if there are signs.

If you see it happening, take down the liscence plates of the cars and call the bylaws department. The towns hands might be tied if they havent assumed the area etc, who knows. No one should have to live with trash in front of their homes like that.

Drove by this AM. 2 dumpsters full of garbage, looks like a good attempt was made to clean around it.

Maybe you should put on the sign...You are being videotaped!!!! HAHA.

Its disgusting that people would CONTINUE to dump stuff there and aside from sitting on the porch with a camera, calling the town is something that has to be done ... keep them in the loop. Squeeky wheel gets the oil.

I say we follow Vigalante justice!

We monitor those who dump the trash and follow them to their home. Then leave trash on their property as well.

Come on folks! REVOLUTION!!!

well I think THATS a tad much. But I understand it can be frustrating ... especially with warmer weather coming.. sitting out on the porch with a cup of tea on a nice day... and staring at that big bin... with garbage all over the place.

I was driving through and wasn't expecting to find a dump, so I snagged a picture.

Where was the picture taken. I can't believe it, I hope it was in a construction area.

Ah, so it is a difference in builder then. Mattamy takes pride in their dumpsters. Yes Paul, if you imagine where I took the picture from...the other side of the street, well, thoses are all houses. oops looks like TimAnd Sherri posted the same below...but I'll just leave mine in too  If you are on Derry coming west from 4th line towards Thompson..on the south side, there is open land, this is the area that we are talking about. The next south exit is the enterance to the Guardian Angles road. You'll come across it there. The first time I went by was at night and did a double take.

It is owned by Coscorp I beleive and they are currently preping the area to start building houses, and have that thing for storing tools etc but week after week and clean up after clean up it gets dumped at.

So you mean to tell me it is just a lockable tool shed, not even a dumpster and people are just piling stuff on the top and around the sides? Thats stupid.

Tim

Wow that was a nice response from the President of Coscorp. To bad the President of Mattamy didn't give me a nice response like that.
