jacksonbk22 and rohit97, i'm doing similar upgrades as well...i think you have both convinced me not to bother with the potlights (rohit97...oh the many PMs back and forth about it lol)... I needed 15 of them, and it was costing around $3600...i could put that money to better use...like the pendant lighting (which isn't found in the upgrade booklet, but IS an upgrade!), and probably undermounted sinks in the ensuite master, which also isn't mentioned in the book :?

Sorry, I forgot about the cabling jacksonbk: I'm going to upgrade to the 200amp circuitry, and do the 30ft cabling. I'm not sure what the line cabling (RG6) means in the upgrade book, because I look at the list of Quality Appointments, and it already says RG6 cabling will be installed for the TVs...not sure what part is an upgrade? Maybe I'm missing something?

Great! Were those 'cool extra features' in the upgrades book?

Do a search for Curtis Behnke - he will do your lights for $65 each main floor, $75 each second floor. Your 15 lights will cost you less then half of the builder cost...

I was going to do the hardwood externally but when I looked at the upgrade book Intracorps price on this is actually quite reasonable and fair for market price so the biggest upgrades we are going with are upgraded tiles, hardwood and flooring throughout. Whatever we can do externally we will most likely go that route.

Perhaps I can help with your hardwood inquiry

I assume you're getting carpets as standard? Are you installing hardwood throughout the house or just main floor?

Let me know what manufacturer your builder is supplying for hardwood & what you have been quoted & what size/species/grade of wood, if stained or
natural & plank width. It will also help if I can see your floorplan. Then I can tell you if the cost you were quoted is "reasonable" :)

Def. do potlights after closing - we also used Curtis & he was great!!!

I think his prices went up a bit recently :) but are still excellent comparing to others incl. Mr. Potlight.

Doesn't surprise me - the amount of time he spent at my house - I felt like I was ripping him off - and I didn't negotiate his rates down or anything!
