Had my appt today. FUN! I added some extra cool features to the home. I just realized the sheet with our floorplan that shows where all the electrical
outlets are going and lights, etc. My great room dosent have a main light in it. :(

We added a ceiling light and switch so we could have Mr Potlight come in and put all our potlights after the fact.

Do a search for Curtis Behnke - he will do your lights for $65 each main floor, $75 each second floor. Your 15 lights will cost you less then half of the builder cost...

Thanks for the info, Deep, I will do that. I guess I should make sure I have a ceiling light available in that room so they can run the wires, right?

Thanks

Welcome Dino! I close in January. I'd like to extend my closing to march/april....chances are, Intracorp will be late to close. With the type of winter being predicted, I'm not sure how much work they'll actually get done! So, hope your closing gets pushed out a bit 8)

So guys, Thursday is my DC appt. I had to keep pushing it out because I was away on business....Karla from the design company was pretty pissed off at me...oh well....

BTW, those of us who had Danielle for the kitchen appointment, she got fired because she got into arguments with some of the intracorp home owners during the appointment, and was trying to rush them...

I hate to see anyone get fired, but I did find her wanting to rush me through. When I reviewed what she wrote, there were so many errors in price and description....
SO finally the big DC appt was yesterday! How did it go..
The DC appt went really well. It took much longer than we thought. We got almost everything we wanted - we're still thinking about staining the hardwood...

The cool features we had already planned were audio package 2 and TV in the master ensuite. Overall, we got:

- potlights in family and entryway ( afraid of smooth ceiling getting messed up)
- 3 1/4 inch hardwood on main floor and stairs
- audio package 2
- cable in master ensuite
- humidifier
- granite and undermount sinks in master ensuite
- frameless shower in master ensuite
- capped ceiling light in family room and over soaker tub in master ensuite
- glass strip tiling in master ensuite
- structural change the 3rd bathroom upstairs
- upgraded baseboards
- smooth ceilings on main floor
- additional GFI receptacles for wine fridge, B/I microwave, etc.
- couple of other things, but I can't recall

We took a couple of things off to do once we move in, like the gas rough-in, fireplace in master, faucet upgrades, and a couple of others which I can't remember...we added a couple of others like granite countertops in servery which I thought would have been included already.

I'm second guessing on the tiles we chose for the other bathrooms upstairs so I want to go back for another look...

Overall, a really good experience, and UNDER BUDGET!! Yee hah! Some stuff I put on my list as a 'just in case', because I had to pay for those items when building my current home. So, when they came off, that gave us more to play with.

Did you guys see the Mattamy house that's up for sale, right in our area? http://www.myvisuallistings.com/vtnb/45242

Is anyone doing the iron pickets on their stairs?

If I don't do the staining, I'll do these after market. But, If I DO stain, I may consider it. I just think it may date my house with them in. So, I'm undecided...
