Stupid me, didn't get a chance to write down the phone number advertised on those huge yellow bags that hold a ton of soil. I see them sitting on people's driveways. Does anybody know which company that is or the phone number? Thanks :)

I think it is Halton soil. did a quick check on 411.ca and here it is

Harwoods (Halton Sod)
12144 Steeles, Milton, ON L0P1E0
(905) 878-1900

Could be wrong though

I think the company is Halton Soil/Ontario Soil. They advertise a lot in the Champion, usually with a 10% off coupon if I'm not mistaken.

I believe it costs $139 per beg (plus tax ) and it includes delivery. I'm not sure about pickup when you're done (filled with garden waste).

Actually, not sure of that number, but it is Halton Sod, number I have is 905-878-1011....they had a $15 off coupon but that expired on May 15th....Total is approx $146 for the dirt including delivery. If you have an EMPTY bag, they'll give you $5 for it. They won't take your waste.

(We're having our 3rd bag delivered on Tuesday)

Jessica :)

How much soil is actually in those bags? I assumed just by seeing them while driving by houses, that they were 1 cubic yard? Am I way off?

even if it is 2 cubic yards, that price seems extremely expensive just for the convenience of having it in a bag.

Last year and this year both, I got Triple Mix from Taylor Nurseries (North of Derry on 5th Line) for only $26/cubic yard plus taxes.

Last year we had 6 cubic yards delivered, so there was an additional $30 delivery charge, but this year we brought our own trailer and picked up 2 yards. Much cheaper for more from those yellow bags....
