Some churches are substituting doritos and pepsi in there, but that's a whole other story. Here is a clip of some retards discussing that topic.

I think I actually lost some brain cells listening to that. Mind you that Megyn Kelly would definitely get a game.

How about this...a small Kirpan charm that goes around their neck. Is there anything in their religion that defines what size or how sharp it has to be?

That comment is kind of insulting buddy! Would you tell a catholic person to put a cross-shaped twig around his neck? Google Kirpan on wikipedia and learn a bit about it.

As for Quebec and this ban, I applaud them. It's about time we start standing up for human rights and stop bending to every religion's requirements/beliefs, especially when there is a risk to public safety.

BTW I am a Sikh Canadian.

the banana one or the other comments?

if the banana, sorry if I offended

the whole situation reminded me of that moment in the movie "The Other Guys" when the chief takes Will Ferrell's real gun and gives him the wooden gun

I wouldn't tell a Catholic or a Sikh to put anything around their neck. I'm offering a solution to the problem. I do, however, think that there are reasonable limits to all rights. I would also tell a Catholic, who expects building codes to accomodate his wish to freely carry around a life size crucifix, to go to hell too.

I took your suggestion and looked up the Kirpan. I found out that there is no minimum or maximum size or sharpness it has to be. How is it offensive to offer up a solution to the problem that Sikhs might have to face in quebec? They can satisfy their religious commitments and obey the law at the same time. Is that not win-win??? Or is it now "offensive" to suggest something that might damper the need to kick and scream about religious rights?

Maybe we could contact NERF to make some kirpans?

My question's are:

What exactly is a Kirpan?
Why is it called a ceremonial weapon?
When, what era was this weapon added to the religion?
What did they have or use before the Kirpan was added to the religion?
Why is it called a ceremonial weapon, what ties this weapon to the Church?
Is it a man made addition to the religion?

Anything that questions anything another culture does is considered "offensive" and you'll be labelled a "racist".

Welcome to the Western world, where certain things do not fit in. Such as carrying around a large knife, or concealing youself except for your eyes, or wanting to wear a turban instead of a motorcycle helmut or construction hat.
These are safety concerns on this side of the world. It's not an attack on their religion. But they take everything as such, and therefore react the way they do. I think as a western society there is a right here to banning such things in certain circumstances.
I would not expect to live on their side of the world and be able to wear mini skirts and tube tops...

My question's are:

What exactly is a Kirpan?

A kirpan is a ceremonial sword carried by all devout members of the Sikh religion. Many Sikhs compare the symbolism of the kirpan to that of the Christian cross, stressing the fact that it stands for an ideal, rather than actually serving as a weapon. Wearing the kirpan is a constant reminder that Sikhs have a duty to protect people, fight for justice, and act with virtue

When, what era was this weapon added to the religion?

Khalsa Sikhs carry a Kirpan in keeping with their vows to honor the edict by Guru Gobind Singh who on Vaisakhi Day 1699 included it as one of the five articles of faith or the 5Ks. It became part of a 'uniform' that was to be worn by all Sikhs who had taken part in the Khanda di pahal or Amrit Sanchar. In addition to the 5Ks, Sikhs who have taken Amrit (Khalsa) also are expected to follow other strict rules of behavior as ordained by the tenth Guru.

The Kirpan is used for many other rituals that Sikhs have to perform in their daily lives. When a Sikh does ardas before the Guru Granth Sahib, the kirpan is used to .... the offering of food (or Kara parshad) to Akal Purakh (Almighty Lord)

Why is it called a ceremonial weapon?

I can't really find a clear answear to this, because some one added it to the religion?

What did they have or use before the Kirpan was added to the religion?

I can not find the answer to this

Is it a man made addition to the religion?
This was added in 1699, that is only 312 years ago. How significant is this to the religion?

The Kirpan is the symbol crystallising the fact that when a Khalsa joins this army, he or she has left behind the docile environment of subservience and subordination and has joined the proactive and caring world of the fearless, brave, and courageous defence force of Guru Gobind Singh. The recruits of this army have a dynamic and constant duty to protect and to fight for justice for all the people of the world and to side with the oppressed and offer assistance and support to all weaker inhabitants without any reference to their race, sex, caste, nationality, religion, or beliefs.
