"Wow those are some harsh words. How old are the kids and what keeps flying into your yard?"

Hmm, let's see -- I have a laundry list here:

Their hockey pucks hit my garage door, their soccer ball hits my living room window, their basketball hits my car, they leave candy wrappers, popscicle sticks, bottle caps, fast food containers, and general debris on my front lawn and drive way. Their parents both smoke and drink outside flicking cigarette butts and beer bottle caps onto my driveway and garden. On a windy day, all of their recycling flies onto my lawn.

They're outside from morning till late at night, screaming, swearing and causing a ruckus. They spend more time outdoors than in their house. Every time I come home and pull into my driveway, they're loitering around outside. They play loud, obnoxious music for the whole neighbourhood to hear. They have no respect for other people's property or the noise level they create at all hours of the day.

That's just some of it. Still think I'm being harsh?

What is wrong with people? I have no optimism for our society, the world is going down the toilet and it is sad to see it right in our own community.
Sorry to hear of this Demitri. I'm sure there are bylaws "protecting" you, but whether or not any enforcement helps I've no idea.
May luck shine on you and a "For Sale" sign on their lawn appear soon.

May I suggest that you and this neighbours "other side" neighbour get together and build a VERY HIGH FENCE around their property... right up to the side walk... BLOCKADE THEM... and then (since they seem to stay up late) mow your law with the LOUDEST oldest GAS mower you can find at 6:59am EVERY Sat and Sun MORNING!

Anyone have any other irritating LEGAL things demitri888 can do?

Sorry to stoop to this level but from what you are saying you have tried being diplomatic, now it is time for SANCTIONS!

Again good luck!

I have some suggestions:

1. Gather all their trash that ends in your backyard, put it in a box and place it on their porch.

2. Everything of value (not trash) that ends in your backyard (balls, packs, etc.), confiscate it, do not give it back.

3. Everytime they are outside and get out in your porch with a videocamera pretending you're filming them. If they ask, tell them you're collecting video evidence to use in court when you decide to sue them.

Do any of you know of children that play soccer with a BASKETBALL? Who kick the ball for hours against your fence so it wavers to a point where you think it will fall down?

After having your car detailed, cleaned and waxed, do you have neighbour kids who shoot it with their water guns that contain muddy water?

These are bordering on acts of vandalism. Keep it documented and photographed and maybe contact a constable and see what they say.

Hey H&H,

I'm sorry about your neighbor problem...they sound like pretty disgusting people to me. After all isn't your backyard an extension of your home? I'd hate to see the inside of the home! Scary! Instead of chilling in the jacuzzi maybe some lawn/backyard clean up could have been a little more appropriate. Wow.....not good...and that (science experiment) I mean wine glass is STILL out there????....oh man....that is just dirty!

I don't blame you for wanting to move away, although I'm sure some of your neighbors will miss you dearly. Good neighbors are hard to find! Hey the future neighbors may have a clean backyard but what if they are crappy people.... :P A thought to ponder.....

Anyways, I think it's a good idea to write "the letter" maybe they'll get the message or even better..... they move! Sounds like there are a few issues that you can bring up in the letter or with the town. Or just get together with your neighbors and make some noise!!!!!! ha ha - Party at H&H's! wahooo!

As for their trash... I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole! my goodness, and why do their dirty work....if they have so much money why don't they hire some help!

Ya know... this might be an off-the-wall suggestion, but I'll say it anyway:

Once you've decided you have absolutley had enough, why not have a bunch of people just come to your yard and stare at them while they're in the jacuzzi? They'd clearly be annoyed and ask why everyone is staring, that's when you tell them, "They didn't believe me that your yard was such a disgusting mess that they had to see it themselves."
Your guests are on your property so there isn't a lot they can do.

Things may turn ugly following that, but if you're debating moving because of them, it may have already reached that point.

Like I said, this may be a very wacky idea, one I likely wouldn't have the guts to pull myself, but I'd hate for our community to lose a valuable member like yourself.

OMG could you just imagine???!! :o We'll ewwwww and ahhhh about the science project they have going on their patio table...and their lovely yellow dried out dead plants that desperately scream for a drink....

How about it H&H???! That's got to do something...if anything a fun night!

Teamwork! Let's keep the good neighbors and get rid of the crappy ones!

So how have these slobs been lately?

My gripe about my street is that the neighbours and other houses across the street don't even say hi nor wave to me and my next-door neighbours to say nothing of the lack of eye contact. It sucks, but ah well. When they get stuck in the snow during winter, It'll be my turn not to make eye contact.
