Your options are on the back of the ticket.
Why do you want to fight it? Were you parked there > 3 hrs?
Tell the judge you are above the law and don't respect him or the police.

Hello,

I received a parking ticket on Aug 1st for parking longer than 3hrs beside my house. I saw a few tickets on peoples windshields on Savoline as well. Is there anyway to fight this?

You could try fighting it; but honestly what's the point? Parking tickets don't impact anything except your license renewal. You're insurance isn't going to be impacted.

Just pay the fine since you were parked there for longer than 3 hours.

You asked if you could fight it, yet presented no defense. Invitation for smart ass comments.
Visit the Town of Milton website for overnight parking considerations. I think you get 18/yr per license plate or 36 freebies with 2 cars.
ALL of Milton is 3 hr as far as I know.

There are no signs on the road. Its a newly developed area and our builder tells us time to time to park on the side to do the pavement/driveway/grass etc. Back in Mississauga it's 15hr parking.

I just think we should be warned first.

P.S- Not interested in smart ass comments

No Mississauga is normally 3 hours too; unless in certain designated areas where it can be 15 hours as long as there is a sign.

go to city hall for the "first attendance" option listed on the back of the ticket. the staff are pretty nice in the engineering department. i got a ticket for no-stopping on Savoline which was waived as the by-law wasn't in place yet. you may not have much luck though as others have mentioned everywhere in milton is 3 hour parking limit.

No, the town of Milton needs your parking ticket money. and most people don't have the time or energy to call up their elected officials and tell them the 3 hour parking limit is unacceptable.

I got a parking ticket a few months back on a Sunday afternoon.

orly? do all bylaws cease existence on sundays?

No, not at all.
Its the best time for giving out tickets really, especially with people having guests over - "Welcome to Milton here is your souvenir ticket". We all know how busy the streets get on a Sunday afternoon, and how much those parked cars impede traffic.

You don't want to pay street tax?

You were warned as you drive into the city and there are those huge signs indicating 3 hour maximum parking bylaws

What exactly do you want, a parking allowed for 3 hours sign on every side street?

Are you North or South of Derry?

The north side has parking patrol rolling through here daily!

All you would need to do is call the town and get an extended parking pass.

That's like getting a 50 page document with fine print and saying here read this. You an i both know that is bullshit. They can put a note on the cars the first time saying its a warning or something. I don't look at parking signs when I enter the city.. why the hell would i ever do that? If i start i might miss the speed sign and then get caught for speeding.

You've been a member on this board since June 2010 and you've not once, not ever, been aware of the 3hr parking limit? This has been a huge issue and around municipal election time last October it was almost "THE ISSUE" what with Lambert protesting his violations and vowing to change this. Man up. Pay your damn fine.

Years ago I used to park on the street overnight every day until they decided to enforce the bylaw. When I went to town hall to protest this travesty of justice it was explained to me that many streets are narrow enough that if two cars are parked opposite of each other, there isn't enough room to get a fire truck past. While the bylaw does not guarantee this can not happen, it sure reduces the chances. I suppose if I lived halfway down one of these narrow streets, I would prefer the fire trucks had access to my house.

Yesterday i got ANOTHER ticket. This time I went online and got a permit overnight. NOW WHAT? the f*** city going to make up some bullshit and take my money again?

Did you tie the red ribbon to your antenna like the instructions state?

If you didn't tie a ribbon on your car, you're still liable for a ticket
