Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for the best protection plan available for a high-veloctiy air conditioning and furnace. I understand that it would be a monthly fee and that the plan would normally cover servicing and repairs (parts and labour) for both the heating and cooling systems. The average monthly cost appears to be approximately $19.99.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the "best" company for the job? I've looked into Reliance, Direct Energy, Atlas, and ABW Air, but I am having a hard time deciding. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'd be interested in knowing a good company too. I was offered 14 bucks or so a month from Reliance but then questioned whether or not they would service my AC attached to the hi-velocity on demand water heater furnace system, they seemed to think they would. She also mentioned that since the furnace is heated by the rented hot water tankless system, if anything went wrong with it, they'd provide service. But I think their 90 buck service call charge would apply. It's quite confusing.

My advice: Take the money you would pay for a protection plan and put it in a savings account. Find a local company that will service your heating equipment for a fair price and pay them on an as-needed basis and you'll probably do just fine

I'm surprised that Reliance even quoted you on a maintenance plan. We actually signed up for one about 6 months ago and when the paperwork came - the fineprint said does not cover Hi velocity.

I would look into that again to be sure

Amen to that.

There is a disturbing trend lately with people trying to insure everything, insure the things that really matter, save some money instead and don't be a sucker.
