To make a long story short, we got some things sorted out, and I managed to get into the sales office today in the top 20. Apparently someone backed out of buying lot 60 so we jumped on it... Just wondering who our perspective neighbours and street-mates are :D

A quick search showed that the sidewalk is apparently not on our side (yay!), though we still need to confirm this with Milton, along with the presence/absence of hydro boxes or hydrants. It looks like a nice lot, just suspicious as to why the original buyer let it go!

:) The first and yet the last person i'd expect to respond. We chose model 13, though we're still kind of debating whether to go with a smaller (and approx $13k cheaper) model 4 or not. Now that i've been spoiled to the thought of a 2-car garage, i'm not sure I can bring myself back to a 1.5

Whoot Whoo Tyrone!! My husband and I bought #74 last Friday. We've purchased Plan 12 and yes the side walk is on our side (congrats I'm uber jealous). We close April 2012 (although wouldn't complain if we were delayed a little, our neighbour closes in July, so could be a noisy few months).

Congrats on your purchase!

Oh no!! Please don't take me the wrong way! I wrote that while half-asleep, and I apologize if my poor sentance structure/choice of words had offended you.

What I meant was that I was expecting to hear from you with a congratulation (possibly via PM), but wasn't expecting to see a message from you in this thread.

Awesome :) I've still got to call the town to see if there are any utility fixtures on our lot, but otherwise i'm really pleased we finally pulled the trigger. The closing date given (May 29th) is really soon so it's definitely time to tighten up the ol' spending habits.

Any suggestions on a reasonably priced/helpful lawyer? We've got essentially 3 days to get everything in order now, since we signed on Saturday... Such a tight timeline!

Michael Morgan @ 905-878-5554 advertised 760 including GST. He's located on Bronte St north of Derry in Milton. The firm is called Gryphon Law Chambers. Disbursements are included in the $760, but there is an additional charge for Title Insurance, Courier fee, Bank charge and then they charge HST on those three items and paid at closing.

Really helpfull people, we used them on our purchase.

Thanks! We went to him yesterday, and can attest to the helpful nature of his consultation. I was just curious as to who my new neighbours were :D

Eek. Sorry, I've been out of the loop. We've been crazy planning for our upgrade appointment, fun times (and mind consuming) and trying to work to pay for the place. :D Hope all has gone well since your purchase.
We stopped by the site last week and walked in the field where the street will be. We found wooden pegs (which I'm assuming are for water) that had our lot on them, so we snapped a pict in from of it. It's only been a month, but it feels like we've already been waiting forever!

:) Nice to hear from SOMEONE, so it's never too late! Everything seems to be in order thus far, we're also doing our weekly design centre visits in preparation for our appointment (which has yet to be scheduled for some reason). We're also doing our due dilligence in trying to compare the pro's and con's of doing some of the work via an outside contractor vs. through mattamy - you're right, it numbs the mind after a while!

I ventured out to where I thought our home might be and found a huge pile of rocks on the lot :P

We have our design appointment on Tuesday, yikes! That came fast! I think we're pretty set on what were doing for upgrades though. We're going to do a few things post close though for sure, i.e. granite and security system. Their hardwood prices aren't as attrocious as we thought they'd be, but we're still weighing the pros and cons as well.

It looks as though they've dug up the area. I guess they have to start at least prepping our street fairly soon!

We've finally got our appt for the end of this month. May I ask why you're doing the security/granite after closing? We're considering doing it with the builder for quartz since the outside contractors don't seem to be THAT far off the mark. For the hardwood however, quote around - If you get it done 3rd party, you get to keep the carpeting that you're paying for anyway plus there's a huge difference in price. We're most likely going with Patrob.

We went by the site today around 2PM and saw that they were actually working and digging up the lots!

Wow digging already? How exciting!! I'm already prepping for life in mud,(drove by last week, my car was instantly flithy).

Exciting about the appointment, ours is done, we did end up doing the security and hardwood through the builder. Other upgrades will have to wait for post close, had to draw the line somewhere. :D Good luck and have fun at your appointment, we were well prepared and were able to get everything done in one appointment (they originally were pushing for us to have 2 appointments).

Haven't heard a peep about the exterior appointment yet though. I've tried a few times to reach our customer care rep, to inquire with no luck.

PS I wonder where the rest of our neighbours are? Very strange. (Our first Mattamy purchase almost our whole street was on here).
