Anyone lose power?

We lost power twice in 30mins. The blackouts lasted around 5 to 10mins each...

Yup - Thompson and Kennedy circle 4 times...

Radar maps look as if it's done now - perhaps more rain around 3AM

What a wicked storm it was last night!!! We lost power about 4 times (Yates/Holly) lasted for a few minutes each. Which I found extremely strange because HVOP had their lights on (you could see it from the distance). I don't think a transformer station was hit or anything, so what was it???
We got a few close lightning hits. The storm came out of nowhere.

We were watching the Weather network or Env. Canada - nothing. Weird.

We're at Holly & Yates too, it was strange how quickly the storm came. It seemed everytime there was a violent thunderclap/lightning strike the power went off, then came back on with the next violent strike.

The first time the power came back on there was music coming through the baby monitor, it totally freaked us out. As we were going to check it out, the power went out again, which also freaked us out, lol. No music when the power came back on again.

4 times, most pretty short, one that lasted for a couple of minutes.

Some wicked thunder too, I love storms.

I hear you... our security system and the smoke detectors went nuts with the fluctuating power-on/power off. The whole house was beeing. I just found this instant outage for a couple of minutes very strange. What could got hit to knock the power out???

I'm glad your house at least didn't catch on fire!! Do you have a lightning rod installed?

Hahah nope. We have a metal gazebo. It hit that it seems. No damage to it tho. I was on my iPhone in the bed while it was plugged in, shocked me slightly. Was a very odd feeling. I think I should buy a lottery ticket..

We didn't have any issues at our place with the storm last night (Thompson/Derry) however in a previous home we were hit 3 times, each time frying our security system. First time it hit, I thought a plane had crashed into the house as the whole thing shook. Installer said it was the first time he had ever had to ground a residential security system. We finally moved, I figured "three strikes and you're out!"

Anyone else have a generator? I picked up one a while ago. I have a 3.5k and a 1k. Enough to keep the food cold, tv on. The thing with generators they will not be available if there is widespread need. I also keep about 80L of fuel on hand and cycle it through the car every few months. Never keep gas more than 3 month, without Stabil.

Anyone else had the power outage again????? Around 7:30 this morning, power was out in the Holly/Derry neighbourhood for a few minutes. No storm this time. Milton Hydro should focus on ensuring there is electricity, rather than keep increasing the rates! :x
