Hi Jay I'm stuck between two units the LDC0800 ¾ HP – LINEAR and the 3280 Liftmaster - 1/2HP. I have one double door and want a very quiet unit comparable if not better then other gdo's mentioned on this forum. I also wanted to steer clear of battery backup. My house isn't closing until spring of this year!

I would definitely suggest the LDC0800. By far the quietest unit I've ever seen.

Yes! Some new inventory available. I'm on a jobsite right now (on blackberry) but will update tonight and respond to the couple PMs that I received today.

Everything is updated. There are other units available, if you don't see what you like, let me know.
If you have two doors, I'll throw in a free keypad.
Don't forget, prices include taxes and installation.

Hi Jay, would you recommend the LD050 ½ HP – LINEAR – Belt Drive or the 3280 Liftmaster - 1/2HP - Belt Drive. I will need two for our two single doors on the garage and was wondering which is the better unit (noise, durability, overall performance). Thanks for the info.

I see Liftmaster is Chamberlain (a good thing, the screw drive openers last forever)
extra remotes for sale?

If you let me know your model number, I can certainly get you a remote. There are a couple different versions (depending on what year it was made) so I need to know which model you have before I can price it.

Hey Dan, sorry I missed your post.
That's a tough battle as they are both almost perfectly equal.
The Liftmaster has 2 light as opposed to one.
The Linear has a slightly better warranty. Both come with a Lifetime warranty on belt and motor. The Liftmaster comes with 1 year on all other parts. The Linear comes with 5 years on all other parts except electrical which is 1 year.

The Linear is by far your best bang for your buck. The Liftmasters tend to cost more because they are a more popular name.
I would personally go for the Linear, I have yet to see a problem with them, they are very quiet and perform well.

I would actually toss one other suggestion for your consideration.. The Linear LDCO800, for the same price as the Liftmaster, you would get a 3/4HP Belt drive, DC motor. By far, the quietest unit I've seen.

Hi Jay, I didn't know if a 3/4 Hp garage door opener would be too strong for a single door. I always assumed that those would be reserved for a double door. Thoughts?

Thanks again.

It's certainly not going to hurt the door. If anything, a smaller door means less stress and a longer life.

If you can find the exact same unit, for a cheaper price, including taxes and installation, then please let me know! I'll do my best to beat it.
