wow - so cool to see this thread i jsut got into photography last year shoot nikon d3100 - q for you folks i lost the cap that came with the 52mm lens - i went to best buy to buy a replace - but they suggest just to get a UV lens cover - apparantley i dont even have to take it off - anyone use those? does it effect the picture?

Best place to buy replacement for lost cap is e-bay.
Instead of UV filters, which are not relevant anymore, get protective filter. Hoya made them and they are not expensive ones. Available from e-bay or at Henry's.

Filter protects lens from scratches while you are using it. Cap protects the lens then camera in not in use.

Great shots above! I'm happy not to be alone here this year.
But, this year winter sucks.
No local snow.

Or ice. We have to go to Burlington this weekend to skate outdoors.

Even the coyote is smart enough not to mention with the Canada Geese ... those fowl are vicious!

Some pics that I have taken. :) Enjoy.

Why are these so blurry?

Looks to me like just low resolution, probably taken with a camera phone.

File comment: Geese that my wife and I fed for 1 month EVERYDAY at the Milton GO station and happened to pull in the parking lot the morning they began to hatch, as if they waited for us to say thank you. We missed our train that day to watch :P 6 little babies, (1 of which was slow to come out, we were worried he was going to be abandoned, but he made it). They all left together and our job was done.

Very cool!!!
