My wife prefers boiled corn on the cob over grilled, so that's one reason to have a side burner. I have also used my side burner to stir fry with my wok, which is nice since I don't heat up the house by using the stove top in the summer. I agree that it's not always useful, but for a $150 dollar upgrade that includes and extra bbq burner (on the Weber CEP-330 over the CEP-310) .. it was a no brainer. It's also a LOT hotter then my biggest gas stove element, and you can deep fry without making the whole house smell like cooking oil.

It appears a Cardinal rule is not absolute!

I also thought one of those single induction elements would be great to use outside instead of a burner. Just place it on the side tray and plug it into the house where you plug in the rotisserie.

We just purchased a Nepoleon, the one we purchase has an Infrared SIZZLE ZONE™ side burner. We also looked at the Weber but the guy at The BBQ store really raved about the New Napoleons. He said he purchased a Weber last year, but if he was to buy this year he would get the Nepoleon. I gues time will tell how good it is

I sold my Weber and buyght my self Char-Griller Super Pro http://www.lowes.ca/products/bbq.aspx , and boy why did i waste all this years with gas crap. For me charcoal is the only way to go :)

Why is that excellent?
On the high end Weber's, only the grill box is made in the US. The cart and shelves are made in China.
I'm surprised you are supporting a product that is partially made in China.

They're a real bitch to put together, huh? Took my buddy and I 3.5 hours to do, but we may or may not have been wasted.


I put together my genesis (CEP-330) in under 2 hours. It was a piece of cake.
