Just a note, if you are going to the US any time soon, their GDO's are a heck of a lot cheaper there than in Canada.

I just bought a Sears 1/2 HP belt system with all the remotes and outdoor keypad for 192 US tax in. That is about 234 cdn. Sears Canada sells the exact same unit for 299.99 plus tax which is 340. I saved 106 bucks!

Just thought I would share incase you go across shopping anytime soon.
I did not pay duty as I did not declare it though......

I was told that since it is craftsman there will be no warranty issues, but then againm this was from the guy who worked there and probably does not deal with a lot of Canadians.

That is a good deal, if you're looking to install one yourself.

However, if you declare it or get stuck paying duties, it could be quite a bit more!

But, if you shop around, you can find those type of deals here.

We got the same one, 1/2 HP belt drive with the warranty here in Canada, INSTALLED with 2 remotes for our 2 cars, the key pad to get into the garage, and the key pad for outside entry into the garage, all for $300.

So, if you shop around, you can find good deals here too!

When I worked at Sears in Canada we were unable to accept anything from Sears in the US. Warranties and requirements were different.
