Holy cow! Free A/C?! That's awesome! I agree with nan, they won't give ANYTHING away for free unless they've done something gravely wrong, so enjoy it! That's a nice chunk of change you don't have to spend :P

Thanks for the heads up on that insurance provider. My quick quote ended up with a $1300+ result, not sure if i'm doing anything wrong but that sounds abnormally high =/

How did your PDI go? Anything to note?

Anyone who's already moved in and see a couple skulking around on the end of the street near Farmstead, feel free to come by and say hi :)

I never trust the online quotes, they're always higher than the actuals. May be worth phoning around to compare.

PDI went well for us, nothing big internally, just a bunch of exterior items that will be wrapped up as the hood settles down. Now that we're in the place, we've got a list going for our 30 day, lots of little things, however nothing earth shattering.

Ps did any one see the park concepts the town has put together, pretty nice we'll be so close!

So for those of you who have already moved in, have you noticed your sump pump going off yet?

lol - nobody else posts in this section anymore.

I haven't heard of a specific date yet, though I do see that they've begun depositing piles of dirt at each house towards the west end of the street.

I was told that driveways should be in sometime next week and sodding should be done around the same time.

Re water in your basement - is your basement clean otherwise? Our basement was pretty wet during our PDI, builder said it was because they were cleaning all the dirt out.

The water in your basement is totally normal and you will still see a lot of moisture down there when you move in. My advice, buy a dehumidifier that has the option of having a hose drainage to run to it to automatically drain the water. We haven't hooked up the hose to ours yet, and currently need to empty it multiple times a week (I think ours is a Fridgidaire 50pint).

Really looking forward to the sod, and to seeing the street full of people (the black bench on our porch is grey with dust, and I've given up trying to keep it clean :) ). The neighbourhood is amazing so far, loving the ponds and park at the end of Dice Way, it's a very nice place to walk the dog!

=/ water was pouring into our basement during the rainstorm a few days ago. Thank goodness Darren and another builder (DJ? AJ?) were still around. They actually had to bring in a backhoe on an emergency basis to unclog our sump drains at the side of the house.

It's kind of worrying that the weeping tile was crushed and severed under the mud, and our waterproof membrane is broken at certain parts along the wall.

Wow! With all this rain and no proper grading we found leaks around 2 of our basement windows over the weekend as well. Mattamy's coming back for additional testing. What a pain! Hopefully this isn't a trend.

We picked up a Danby dehumidifier from Costco for $199. Bigger capacity and name-brand compared to some of the shady in-house stuff we've seen. We've had it going for about a day and change and have already dumped out 4 full buckets of water.

Did we end up getting driveways on our side of the street? We got the door hanger saying it was today, but I waited till 3 before giving up and leaving without anyone coming by.
