Dude is absolutely right! It's the same with religion. Just because you're initiated into the catholic faith - baptised, confirmed and received the Eucharist - it doesn't make you Catholic. You have to be born in it. You're just a follower of the faith but you're not a Catholic. There's a difference. Same goes for other religions.

You know who real Canadians are? Paul Bernardo; Léopold Dion; Robert Pickton; Karla Homolka, I could add a few more... all born and bred Canadians. Didn't have to pass any stupid test or anything. Real Canadians right 9891kydnewueiN? Wonder how many world class medals and titles we have to give back beacuse the athletes weren't actually Canadian but just citizens (2nd class ones to boot).

Sometimes dude, you are not as bright as you can be.

^ So the moment you take the test and pass you are as Canadian as, say, Wayne Gretzky? It's a paper that says you're now a citizen. After years of being here you will become a Canadian.

Those horrible people you call out are/were Canadians, sadly. Are you saying each country doesn't have their share? No one is saying Canadians are better than anyone else but you can't just become a Nationality overnight. Just like if I go live in Turkey and become a citizen, does that automatically make me Turkish? Will I just forget who I am? There is nothing wrong with being who you are but you can't be someone else just because a paper says so. You have to live it.

Of course she doesn't mind...you're her hubby and she knows you love her. If you didn't look, she'd probably find it weird.

P.S. we all roll our eyes when our hubba bubbas check out other female packages

Where the whole argument falls apart in in the fact that you're not comparing the same thing.

Canada is a new country that doesn't have a millennia + of culture.

We are a boring vast country with no identity.

Telling people to adapt to a embrace a weak/non-existent culture is impossible and setting people up for immediate failure.

I'm as white and 'Canadian' as they come, but I'm also educated and travelled. I'm here because my family has been here for generations but I'm stuck in Milton and can't wait to get out of here. There are just too many people who really should be put back on a boat and sent back home, over the pond to the great cesspool homeland England.

We could make a similar list of people that are real citizens of other countries that commit atrocities. Every country has criminals. At least Canada tries to convict criminals. Those names you spewed out convey no point whatsoever.

This isn't about asking them to embrace our way of life. I was defending my statement for calling someone non-Canadian. That's it.

Agreed, lets get back to asses. I bank at Scotia and I must say they have a "troll only" hiring policy at the branch in the Food Basics strip mall.
