I don't like that part of going on vacation...I hate cooking...and like to eat out for one meal here and there, but every meal is tough!

While in Quebec, I had a beavertail 3 days in a row!! :) So yummy though!

Great - more people! Anyone should feel free to join in whenever they wish. I'll be posting every week till mid Sept. when I leave for 9 nights to West Vancouver to visit some of my family. I really need to stay diligent until then as we'll be eating out every day I'm away. :?

We'll keep it going while you're gone. You might have to post a negative loss when you get back ;)

I signed up for www.myfitnesspal.com
Basically a diet and excercise tracking tool. Has BB and Iphone app. Pretty simple to use. Once you enter food and QTY it is available for you to pick again.

Lot's of good programs out there but I hate tracking food, exercise, etc. I figure posting my weight loss here ought to be enough accountability. Great for those who are disciplined though.

Rules for the weight loss thread - I'm thinking we should only post once weekly on the actual thread, whether it be your weight loss, food journal however your going to do it. Then I'll start a companion thread we can chatter in regarding the week otherwise our weight loss thread will be too hard too cluttered.

This upcoming Monday being the first week will be us posting our goals such as our starting weight (for those wishing to disclose) or just the goal of amount of pounds we wish to lose. I'm going to copy & paste this to my first post on this thread also.

Sounds like a plan...do you know what you will name the threads so they are easy to find? I like the idea of having separate threads :)

Add me in too.

I used to use MyFitnessPal and found it helpful in terms of "omg is that how many calories I've eaten already?!". Time to go back and hold myself accountable.

fstydiva, you can always just use a pir of pants and say how loose they are i.e. "indentation tight" to start to "can't stay on my body" when you are done. I def know what you mean about being obsessed though. Once a week weigh-in is enough for me.

I would also like to post the number of minutes of exercise that I plan/actually do. I'm trying to concentrate on becoming "healthy" instead of "skinny".

I LOVE the idea of a "Waist Management" thread. lol

p.s. would love recipe/meals for the day ideas.

I would really like to be a part of this as well. If anyone has great diabetic friendly recipes to share, I'd love to have them!

What's your advice - one weight loss weekly thread each week and then one ongoing "Waist Management " thread where we chat and share tips so we aren't monopolizing the board too much. :?:

Fsty - I like your name Waist Management for the ongoing weight support thread and then I'll just post a new Weight Loss Weekly Goal with weekly date in title people can look for separate from that one.

Sounds good to me...was wondering if we should do a separate thread for receipes as a few of us have indicated an interest in exchanging recipes etc...or is that too much?

Ive actually put on a few pounds in the last week while working out more. I guess that's why they said don't weigh yourself too often, because my face is still slimming, thighs are much thinner and thus pants wont stay up. Stomach doesn't seem to be shrinking at the pace it used to but definitely feel the abs getting tighter and stronger.

If its specifically weight it may discourage some people when they hit that wall or gain a pound or two back, and feel the need to over-explain why. As a compulsive weight checker I know, I check after morning bathroom trip and sometime after dinner so I can compare it to similar times from previous days and then decide if I need to try and do more that night.

Good point, however most people fail to recognize that muscle weighs more than fat, so there is a good chance you'll 'gain weight' if you are working out, but as you already pointed out, you will notice that your face is still thinning, pants are looser, etc...
