I'm planning on doing either the $99 or $140 pledge to get a console. Several of my coworkers at work have jumped in and to be in it with my team I've also drunk the kool-aid and am going to pull the switch before the deadline tonight. Not sure if it's going to work out at the end and if I'll get the pretty console come March 2013 but the momentum is certainly there and they've surpassed their kickstart pledge by a huge factor already.

I was on the fence until they announced that XBMC is on board. Made my pledge right after it was announced. Can't wait!

They are pre order selling it on their site for only $10 more...

Can any of the resident Tech heads explain why there is so much hype about Ouya? I'm out of the loop these days so not too sure what some of the features like adding XBMC means from a practical perspective.

Crowdfunding is actually a really good way of getting things off the ground that you many not normally be able to fund through regular avenues. I've been backing kickstarter projects since 2010 and now have backed 11 successfully funded projects such as movies, books, video games etc. In fact just 2 weeks ago my wife and I were at a private screening in LA for the first movie I backed and got to meet the cast and crew!

Donations don't have to be huge but you do get a great idea of what it takes to bring a a product to market through the updates you are provided and you end up with something quite limited at the end most of the time.

Great idea that will be bought out by google, samsung or sony and turned into a brand name product. Or they'll just come out with their own. Its brilliant. The android app experience graduated from phone, to tablet, and now to TV. They need to beat the Apple iTV to market though, once that comes out, everyones gonna rush to it.

Lets just say Im going to avoid this, because Zynga will somehow take this over and ruin it like they did anything decent on facebook.
